Casio Bring Us Yet More Great New Portable Keyboards!

Casio CT-S

Casio Music UK have today announced the release of the Casiotone CT-S200, the latest addition within the Casiotone series. Designed with the intention to be portable and functional for the user, the keyboard is easy to carry so users can enjoy making music in all locations.

Approaching the 40th anniversary of their iconic Casiotone series, Casio originally leveraged their digital technology in January of 1980 to release the first digital keyboard – Casiotone 201, a digital keyboard that could replicate the tones of a variety of instruments. The 201 was the first in a long run of innovative releases for the company, and Casio has since developed a variety of products, which have enabled more people to enjoy the beauty of music, as conveniently as possible.

The NEW Casiotone CT-S200 takes its name from the first-ever Casio digital keyboard four decades prior. The CT-S200 is designed with portability in mind, to allow users to enjoy playing in their own style, anytime and anywhere.

Head of CASIO Music UK Neil Evans says ‘The release of Casiotone honours a special moment in our history as the early pioneers of electronic keyboards. The NEW range continues that spirit of innovation, enabling a fresh generation to enjoy this classic instrument, re-imagined with today’s technological advancements.’

The most recent model to the collection also marks new and groundbreaking features not seen in previous models, to make the experience of composing as efficient as possible. Coming in at a compact size 30% less in volume than previous existing models, Casio have made the new model even easier to operate, including an all-new simple interface layout, and new buttons, which allow users to save their favourite musical tones.

The new speakers also feature stronger magnets and a function that optimises equalisation in tandem with volume. The new keyboard also comes with features that enable users to enjoy music in a variety of ways, such as the Dance Music Voices, and Chordana Play app connectivity to make practicing fun.

Main Features of CT-S200:

Light weight and compact size for enjoying music more easily

With a compact size of 930 mm x 256 mm x 73 mm, for a total volume about 30% less than that of the existing CTK-2500 and CTK-2550 models, and about 16 hours of operation with alkaline batteries, the CT-S200 allows users to enjoy music wherever they like. The lightweight of only 3.3 kg and the grip at the top of the keyboard make it very easy to carry.

Interface easy to use for everyone

The CT-S200 features a simple and intuitive interface, offering an organised layout with fewer buttons by using both a full dot LCD screen and dial. It is also equipped with a home button that lets users return to the original screen at any time, making for a superior multi-function keyboard with enhanced usability.

Sound no-one would expect from such a compact keyboard

The use of 13 cm x 6 cm oval speakers with strengthened magnets delivers surprisingly great sound for such a compact instrument. An additional function that optimises the equaliser in tandem with the volume provides balanced sound from the bass to the highs, even at low volumes.

Dance Music Mode and Voices expand ways to enjoy playing

The CT-S200 includes a mode that lets users put together drum, bass, and synthesizer phrases to easily enjoy dance music, as well as 12 types of Dance Music Voices that sound great with dance music styles. Just press along with the rhythm to add accents to ordinary playing and enjoy your creation!

Chordana Play app connectivity to make practicing fun

Connecting the CT-S200 to the Chordana Play app installed on a smartphone or tablet allows users to play the right notes, without reading a musical score, by striking keys in rhythm with the bars that come down from above. The app’s scoring feature gives practice the fun feel of a game.
