At just 9.75” (24.76 cm) tall Fender’s new Monterey Tweed Bluetooth Speaker looks like it should be battery powered however a quick check of the spec soon reveals that this little amp pumps out a rather large 120 watts so batteries definitely would not cut it here. The amp supports aptX and ACC high quality digital audio codecs and also features an EQ preset switch to shape the sound for the room you are using it in. In the speaker department there are two 5.12” woofers and two 1” tweeters. There are two inputs on the Monterey, one 3.5 mm and one RCA…remember this is a Bluetooth speaker for the home not a guitar amp!
The Monterey Tweed comes with Fender’s ’68 custom grille cloth, a red jewel light and chicken-and-head style knobs to adjust volume, bass and treble. The wireless capabilities offer more than 33 feet of Bluetooth audio connectivity.
The Monterey Tweed Bluetooth Speaker will be available in October 2018 and will retail for $379.99.
