Fodera Announces the Emperor and Imperial Electric Guitars
Fodera Guitars, builder of world-renowned custom bass guitars, is proud to announce the latest addition of its product line to include the Emperor and Imperial electric guitars.
Established in 1983, Fodera Guitars has long been synonymous with the world’s finest handcrafted custom electric bass guitars. What most people do not know is that Fodera’s very first instrument was, in fact, an electric guitar–not a bass. Using the same materials and crafted by the same men and women who build the company’s basses, Fodera’s newly launched Emperor and Imperial electric guitars offer the discerning musician all of the old-world craftsmanship, tone, playability and pro-player reliability that the company has long been known for.
The Emperor Guitar is characterized by its retro-rock look and the classic sparkle of its vintage-voiced single-coil pickups, while the Imperial Guitar combines the classic thick, rich tone of guitars from the ‘50’s updated with striking, modern aesthetics.
The Imperial Guitar, the company’s single-cut guitar offering, is built with a choice of semi-hollow Mahogany, Walnut, or Korina bodies, as well as the choice of 3-piece Mahogany, Korina, Maple, or Walnut necks, with Ebony or Rosewood fingerboards. Using only premium hand-selected tonewoods, these guitars provide a rich and resonant tone that is rooted in the traditional with the added clarity for which Fodera is known. The Imperial incorporates a unique stoptail bridge where a solid piece of machined, bell-brass has been inlayed into a fingerboard-matching wooden shell providing added mass and sustain. The Imperial comes with a set of Seymour Duncan Custom Shop humbuckers providing a full, even, rich sound with smooth highs, thick lows, and growling midrange.
The Imperial Guitar is available with premium wood tops in a high-gloss finish body, satin finished neck, and customer choice of chrome, black, or gold hardware.
The Emperor Guitar, Fodera’s double cutaway, bolt-on offering, combines the classic sparkle and chime of ‘60’s and ‘70’s blues and surf sounds with added tonal flexibility for today’s player. Available with a premium, hand-selected Alder body and Indian Rosewood fingerboard paired with a 3-piece Hard Rock Maple neck and angled back headstock, the Emperor guitar offers a rich, balanced, and even tone. The Emperor Guitar comes with a custom set of Seymour Duncan Single-Coil pickups providing the authentic chime, sparkle, and feel that only vintage single coil pickups deliver. Unique to the Emperor Guitar is a pickup configuration that allows for a wider variety of tonal options compared to traditional single-coil-style instruments. In addition to the traditional five-way pickup selector, a bridge pickup switch has been provided to allow the bridge pickup to be engaged with any pickup selector position.
The Emperor Guitar will be available in six classic, high-gloss finishes including Fiesta Red, Candy Apple Red, Vintage Sunburst, Black, Olympic White, Charcoal Frost Metallic, Butterscotch Blonde and Pelham Blue as well as a choice of Black, White, or Tortoise Shell pickguards with classic chrome hardware.
The Imperial Guitar starts at a retail price of $5,995.00 (premium upgrades available) and the Emperor Guitar carries a retail price of $4,995.00.
