Re: Wx7 service repair manual

@Demented7th - I replaced the caps like-for-like with 47uF. @desmondo - Where did the reference to 100uF caps come from? Regarding your request for photos, I looked back, but don't have photos of the process. The caps in question are on the "DM circuit board" which is close to the mouthpiece of the ...

After playing the WX-7 for several minuets
Try playing waltzes or polkas instead? (sorry - couldn’t resist)

Re: Wx7 service repair manual

The service manual contains the following, relevant to this: - Exploded diagram. - Part numbers for shaft, key post and key - A service bulletin which describes how in the lower section, dropping the instrument can cause a rib to break, allowing the lower switch board to slide down inside the instru...

Re: USB-A to WX Extension Cable?

As promised above, I tested a really portable wireless solution today - and it works like a dream. This is an easy way of making your WX7 mobile and having fresh air between you and your sound module. Just hang the BT7 round your neck and off you go. I have a Yamaha MD-BT01 Bluetooth MIDI adapter pl...

Re: WX7 repair

To the OP - it may be any of a number of things - however, be aware that there is also a HOLD key on the WX7. It’s the upper of the 2 keys controlled by your right thumb and it may be stuck.

Folks. Sorry I haven’t been on here for a while and got around to uploading. If anyone has any specific requests I can try to provide an image of whatever page you need.

Re: USB-A to WX Extension Cable?

I may try a Yamaha MD-BT01 (which I have) to Bluetooth enable the BT7 and try to control the ROLI Seaboard 5D app on my iPad wirelessly. I haven’t bothered before now, as I tend to just use my VL-70m with my WX7 due to the patches being designed for breath control and expression. If someone could re...

Re: Yamaha WX7 - loose WX socket? Here's how to fix.

Yes - the WX socket is where the cable attaches to the instrument. The cable has a screw collar, so unscrew that and the cable will pull out of the socket. With the cable out, you should be able to feel the socket with your finger by gentky prodding. There should not be any movement. It's difficult ...

Re: Wx7 service repair manual

I have a pdf copy of the WX7 service manual from when I diagnosed and replaced the capacitors in mine to get the WX interface working a couple of years ago. It doesn't appear possible to post it here, and I'm worried that I wouldn't be permitted to. Is there something I can help you with?

Re: Just saying "Hello" to you

Hi there and welcome.
I love my WX-7 and use it for a lot of 'experimental' sounds in my band's recorded tracks.
Now, if only our guitarist loved it too... :-/

Re: Yamaha WX11 cable

Enjoy your instrument, whatever its finish, colour, condition or cost of cables. The important bit is actually playing music on it. When someone goes out of their way to get out a multimeter and circuit diagrams in order to answer a specific question you ask, common courtesy would be to say thank yo...

Re: Yamaha WX11 cable

You need to transport power to the WX11 and MIDI data from the WX11 to the sound module. You have the following options: 1. Buy a Yamaha BT7. The BT7 provides a MIDI-OUT socket and also a fixed trailing cable which plugs in to the WX11. 2. Buy an alternative power supply/MIDI interface. The WW-BAT i...
