Hi George, did you have a chance to measure the pups?
No I haven't My neighbor has been working massive overtime and I have been working on our Halloween haunt down the road in most of my spare time. I haven't forgotten just haven't had time and a chance to ask my neighbor.

Vintage Guitar mag covers a Yamaha

Doesn't happen very often but VG had a short story on the SC 600 which also referenced briefly the earliest SG series. Quite complimentary overall.

Re: Do blondes have more fun?

So in reality I would only be measuring the ratio of resistances of the two pickups as the cord must have some resistance.

Re: Do blondes have more fun?

Okay, when I bought my SA90 some years ago I measured the pickup's DC resistance and got values that did not make sense. I took them out to see if they were stamped at the back with SA-90 and the japanese date.... but they weren't. So I assumed that they were non original pickups... Then I found ot...

Re: Do blondes have more fun?

In real life I prefer redheads but sometimes the blondes win out. Those of you who follow Reverb will ,no doubt, recognize this sweetheart. Been wanting one for ages and I thought it looked pretty good for the price. As I recall I paid just under $900.00 for my SA50 some years ago and that was in ex...

Re: Do blondes have more fun?

I am afraid you don't have a SA 50 as it does not have the tremolo. You have a SA 90 which was the deluxe model with ebony fretboad and inlays. I think you misinterpreted my post. I'm well aware this is an SA90 I have had my SA 50 for a few years. Remember not all SA 50's have a trem only the SA50t...

Re: Searching for a tuning key

Yes SA 30 and 50 has the same style. The SA15 as well as the SG2C, although open back, have similar looking keys. So some other possible sources.

Re: Searching for a tuning key

Here is a picture of the tuner. All I really need is the key itself All else is original. The newer gears just don't match quite right.

Re: Searching for a tuning key

Thanks. That is definitely vintage but different from the SG Probably from an acoustic. Guess I should post a picture of what I need.
Thanks again for looking.

Searching for a tuning key

My SG2 ( think Link Wray) came with one non original tuning key assembly. The replacement was bogus and never worked correctly. If you know of anyone who deals in obscure parts please let me know . In any case keep your eyes peeled for one in your travels or surfing. Thanks

A very playable guitar. I love mine. I didn't get quite the deal that you did but worth every penny nonetheless.
