Re: SF1000 coming to my collection.

Noticed final price translated to £365 in UK's battered currency. Last two I saw on ebay went for £655 and £781 so definitely a bargain even with shipping.

Re: Yamaha SX

Indeed the three way is correct and interesting to see that the knobs do look like the knobs on the one bought by Jamie

Re: Yamaha SX

He's only just bought it and hasn't replaced anything but who knows what's happened to it under other owners. My pages have been updated with this. It really is amazing the amount of emails I get from people reading my pages. Either asking for information or giving it, both are very welcome we all l...

Re: Yamaha SX

I have now got some pictures of a 125 from Jamie in Canada the telling feature is the rotary three/four way selector which can be seen in the advert posted by Buzzard Jamie tells me that it's a normal three way the fourth position being off. I guess for use like a kill switch. Also the Grover tuners...

Re: Replacing the Tuners on the SG 2000

Yes it's always as well to check other aspects. The nut and the bridge can cause tuning issues. Try lubricating both first it may be an easier solution.

Re: Yamaha SA1200S new info

Just now got this note from Sebastian

Hi,
it's me again.
I thought that this might be of interest for you too: Yamaha Europe answered, that the production of the SA1200s was moved to Taiwan in 1984 and that my guitar was build 14.11.1986.

Thanks again for your help!
Have a nice weekend
Sebastian

Yamaha SA1200S new info

I have had some correspondence from an SA1200s owner Sebastian. We know the archives say production was ended in 1983 but that this is wrong because they appear in the 1985 UK catalogue. Sebastian has sent me pictures of his asking me if it was a fake or another SA with an incorrect badge. It is pla...

Re: Yamahas that need TLC or FUBAR

I spent a lot of time repairing and refurbishing guitars up until about two years ago. Mainly Fender or Fender types because they were easier to find I usually made small profits (excluding labour) but mainly it was for fun and the satisfaction of creating a good guitar. I stopped doing it because t...

Re: yamaha pac 912

Also made at the same time was a 712 which will have the same neck as the 512. The 921 and all the 904s have the same neck as the 912 the 904 series pickup configuration is very similar to the 912 as they just have 2 single coils in the place where the 912 has a humbucker. Can't see much more about ...

Re: yamaha pac 912

Welcome to the forum they will be the same width at the nut 41mms but not the same neck. The 912 has a Warmoth neck with compound radius the 512 has a standard Taiwan neck whether or not it's compound radius I don't know. I'll have a look at my catalogues to see what more I can find.
