Re: Old SA2000 mystery serial number

I have a publication from Yamaha America which runs to 7 A4 pages of types of serial number then says that it isn't all types only the information they have. It makes no sense at all to have so many serial number types and to recylcle numbers every 10 years is unnecessary. All part of the fun????

Re: Old SA2000 mystery serial number

That is an export model colour is Burgundy that colour appeared only in the western catalogues. That serial number in common with a lot of Yamaha serial numbers is no help. You can date it by the pickups there will be a 2 digit number on the back of the pickups. It will be 52 if it's a very early on...

RGX and RGZ sometimes you miss the simplest of things

When I am compiling pages on my web site one of the challenges is working out what the various letters attached to the model numbers mean. I get a lot of correspondence asking me things or telling me things all due to my web site. Someone with an extensive collection of RGZ and RGX guitars has email...

Re: SA2200 trade

If you want a smaller body guitar of the same quality and style the SAS is clearly favourite. Full details here.

Only problem will be finding one. You may not be able to trade but buying the SAS and selling yours could work

Re: Best Electric Guitars Under £300/$400/€340?

I don't think they have fallen out of favour as such they have a lot of dedicated followers, but they are mainly followers of the 80s product rather than the modern. Modern Tokais are also made in China and Korea and are still very good quality. Hypercarrots mentions the headstock shape which is of ...

Are there any Yamaha Made in UK Guitars

Here's an extract from my 1990 catalogue. It seems to suggest that some guitars were made here although it's not clear whether this means just designing prototypes or a small amount of production. Are there any made in the UK guitars?

Re: No Show For Gibson At NAMM 2018

Very interesting they have a loyal following but that will only protect them for so long. Sooner or later the quality to price ratio will damage them significantly if it hasn't already.
