Re: A bit about SysEx (restored).

Hey, I didn't know XGWorks had an 'Insert Event' menu thing built in.
Thanks John, that's really handy to know. I've been doing it manually, the hard way.

Re: Do it yourself yamaha dx7 ram cartridge

You might try joining the YamahaDX Group on Yahoo.com, this subject has came up a lot on there. I seem to remember at least two individuals who have created their own cartridges over the last few years, looking for others who might want to help out by purchasing circuit boards from them so they coul...

Re: Protecting Your Computer System

Hi Parametric, I have almost exactly the same backup scheme, right down to moving my Thunderbird email data to the data drive. I run Windows 7 off an SSD on C: drive, and all of my data (and apps) go on E: drive. Both drives are backed up similar to your method. It works well. If my system goes Sout...

Congratulations guys! A VL7 and a triple voice VL-card MU2000, AND you figured out how to get three different voices out of the three cards at the same time! Nice. I just knew it could be done, I just didn't know how.

Re: DX7 and TX81Z patches as spreadsheets?

I have a spreadsheet in the back of my FM Programming guide with 16 instrument patches in it for the DX11 / TX81Z. Would that help?

Re: Create MIDI from a score - a tutorial.

Hi John, I find it fascinating because I'm working at learning how to score pieces and understanding a master like Bach is an excellent place to work from. I've also forgotten a lot over the years and this helps me remember.

Re: RE: Suitable Replacement For 25 Year Old Sennheiser Headphones (help?)

I had a similar dilemma with my headphones. The solution is to pick a similar set of headphones made by the same manufacturer, Sennheiser, that way you get the same technology and sound quality you're after. Go find and test a new set and see what you like and don't like.

Re: Yamaha VP1 Harmonics

Hi Daniel, I have a question for you... How in the world do I find your VP1 selections on that website when they're buried deep in 590 music selections? There isn't a search function that I could find. I don't have an hour to hunt through all 590 pieces. Is there an easier way to hear them?

Re: Yamaha VL, PLG150-VL card

Glad to hear it. The Chorus Effect can be accessed through the menus on the MU2000, it just takes a bit of menu diving to get to it.

Re: Yamaha VL, PLG150-VL card

Greetings, as I understand it if both cards are set to part 1 you can play two different notes at the same time. I can hear both notes playing on my MU2000 with two VL cards playing a 2-note chord. If you want it to play the same note twice to thicken the sound, turn on the Chorus effect. I haven't ...

Re: Help using two VL boards in an MU100R

This sounds like a question that Rudy at the VL-Wizard site could answer. You might try posting on the Forum over there to see if he knows how to do what you are proposing. I haven't tried it yet myself, I've been working on other things lately.

Re: A MU128 or MU2000 with 2 PLG-100 ou 150-VL

Hi Sloanefreeman, If you put two VL cards in the MU100R it will give you two-note polyphony using the same voice patch, like playing two keys on the keyboard at the same time. For three voices, one VL70m and two PLG cards, you will have to resort to sysex commands to separate the two VL cards. The M...

Re: A MU128 or MU2000 with 2 PLG-100 ou 150-VL

OK... To clarify, the MU128/1000/2000 all default to using both VL cards on one channel as a 2-note polyphony instrument. You might be able to re-assign the channel setting for each card separately using a sysex command, so you can use both cards with different patches selected on each. I don't know...

Re: A MU128 or MU2000 with 2 PLG-100 ou 150-VL

Hi Xavier-Joseph, I have an MU2000ex which has (2) PLG150-VL cards in it. First, get either an MU1000 or an MU2000 since they have a USB interface, the MU128 only has the older midi cable connections and can really only address 32 channels with two sets of midi cables where the USB interface can acc...
