FORUM RULES - READ BEFORE POSTING
We don't have a great many rules on this forum. The ones we do have are mostly common sense but there are a couple which you do need to pay close attention to. You can read the latest version of the rules here: viewtopic.php?t=5958

Re: The Dangers of AI Submission on Forums

All we can do is keep an eye out for them. Trolls will always need an outlet for their toxic rantings. Always best not to feed the troll 👍

Re: MODX+ currently on sale -- what gives?

If you start seeing it discounted all over the place and stocks dwindling etc, that might indicate something but right now I have not seen any signs that Yamaha is going to replace the MODX+. A realignment of pricing might be more likely. The MODX6+ is hovering around the £1000 mark here in the UK a...

Re: Yamaha LL16, some strings are quieter via the undersaddle pickup.

Ahh ok, well at least that is one less thing to go wrong. I have a couple of guitars with passive electronics and honestly can't see the need for a preamp, not for my needs anyway :)

Definitely sounds like the pickup then. Let me know how you get on with it.

Re: Yamaha LL16, some strings are quieter via the undersaddle pickup.

Hi Knorm, welcome to the forum 👍 I have come across the same issue on another guitar many years ago and that turned out to be a faulty pickup. Easily replaced but I have not experienced it on a Yamaha guitar yet. If I remember correctly the LL16 has been around for at least 15 years. How old is the ...

Re: The Dangers of AI Submission on Forums

I guess the test it to regularly ask one of the Ai engines about something you already have in-depth knowledge on. When it starts giving the correct answers more times than incorrect ones and does so consistently, then we are probably on the right track with it. Until then, I think it can be little ...

Re: The Dangers of AI Submission on Forums

I only use Ai as a replacement for Google Search. It just presents results in a more interesting and readable manner. Of course, you have to understand that, as with any search engine, it can often throw up the wrong results. But, that is where we are at the moment. Intelligent it is not.

Re: Why are so many people already dumping their Yamaha Montage M8x??

I agree that the prices are too high. For me, when I look to buy a used guitar or keyboard, it is has to be cheap enough to make me want to buy used rather than new. I saw a used Fantom 7 locally for £2000. The cheapest I have seen retail is £2700 so for me that used one would be a bargain. Unfortun...

Re: The Dangers of AI Submission on Forums

That is pretty much the ethos of this forum. Helping people👍 And that means trying to make the forum as welcoming for people new to music creation as much as it is for the old timers. No one should ever be demeaned for not asking the right question. Just ask away and we will get to the relevant deta...

Re: Why are so many people already dumping their Yamaha Montage M8x??

Exactly. If I reflect on some of my purchases in the past. Fantom X, Fantom G6, Yamaha Motif XS, Korg M3, Roland FA and more recently the Korg Nautilus. They were all great keyboards but way more than I needed or would ever use in terms of features. And of course, all sold pretty soon after buying t...

Re: Why are so many people already dumping their Yamaha Montage M8x??

One of those friends has a handmade Canadian Sitka Spruce Acoustic Guitar... and he's right... you can still smell it. :D  I've not heard of Sitka Acoustics before, but there are a number of craftspersons that make guitars. Just like beer, there are no shortage of craft breweries and pubs thes...

Re: The Dangers of AI Submission on Forums

There is a huge difference between allowing Ai to post autominously on a forum and people using Ai as a tool to help them construct their posts. Many people already use Grammarly, which although not Ai does help with spelling and grammar. Not everyone is good at writing and getting their ideas acros...

Re: The Dangers of AI Submission on Forums

First thing to say is that any of that "passive/agressive" stuff is not welcome on this forum. Ai or Human generated. Absolutely no one asking a question on this forum should be diminished or admonished in any way. The rules are I think, very clear. In particular rules 1, 6 and 7. 1 - Abus...
