What do you think of the mock-up of the right side of my eventual MODX8...? :D

Re: MODX8 - 3 keys making a clacking sound

Wouldn't it be "relatively easy" to just open the MODX8 and put a 1/8"- 1/4" neoprene sheet under the keybed...?

Re: Purchase 3rd party perfs?

This is the best I have found for the iconic 80's synthesizer sounds.

http://www.playkeyz.com/

It was made on an earlier model Motif though.

I know of this one:

Are there better ones out there...?

Some of his songs/sounds sound quite good - but then others don't really sound like the sound they are supposed to at all...

MODX connected to home audio AVR and home audio tower speakers...

Need help from you pros... :) I touched on this in someone else's thread - but wanted to start one here instead of continuing to hijack that person's thread (sorry btw!)... I am wanting to hook up a MODX8 to a home audio AVR and home audio tower speakers. There are various reason for wanting to do t...

Because I went with the Montage over the MODX, my budget is more than maxed out and I am hoping not to have to spend more money if possible.
Mind telling us what made you choose the Montage 8 over the MODX8?

Especially at more than twice the price...

Re: Customer Service Definitely Worth The Extra Cost

You just have to be smart about it ;)

You find the best price and then ask the best place to match it.

Re: MOXF still worth buying over MODX

I went for the MOXF8 after trying them out, the John Melas tools overcame the UI limitations for me, the 4 voice performance and SSS can be overcome by just using songs and some creative settings. That is very interesting... Considering the MOXF is used and the MODX would have been new... And your ...

Re: Looking for some help from someone that owns the MODX8… :)

I am looking for measurements from the desk top that the MODX8 would be sitting on to the red lines... I haven't posted enough to reply to your PM, but the (rough) measurements you want are: Front Top of white keys 113mm Top of black bit 90mm Bottom of black bit 33mm End Top of end panels (at front...

Re: MODX keybed

So, short of returning the keyboard for "repair", it seems that some person stated the keys might need to be lubricated...?

Or the felt dampening material had moved and needs to be re-positioned?

I wonder if having a repair tech put in a 1/8" piece of neoprene would take care of the problem?

Re: MOXF still worth buying over MODX

Interesting question and of course you save £500 buying the MOXF which something not easily ignored! I would still choose the MODX8 even though it would cost more. I can only speak for myself though but, there are a number of reasons why I would go down the MODX route. Better user interface Faster ...

Re: Yamaha MODX Wishlist - Suggestions For Future Updates

Replace the "super knob" with a 3rd wheel (cf. SY-99 and EX5). The idea of a macro-controller function like the "superknob" is excellent, but the *function* itself and its dedicated *physical controller* are quite different things. The way that physical controller has been implemented is daft, to s...

Ordinarily, one does not connect a keyboard directly to a monitor speaker. It would be connected to a mixer, whose TRS/XLR outputs would then go to the monitors...
