Re: What artist or band helped inspire you to create music?

Quite nice to read the inspirations and the bigger stories of times gone by. I grew up with my parents musical choices, thankfully they were all 60's music. My Dad listened a lot to Buddy Holly and Abba...at extremely LOUD volumes and Im sure those are subconscious influences! I terms of what got me...

No battery test on SY35 test mode, this is done with a multimeter.

How is that done? Does one have to disassemble the SY?

Re: Yamaha MDF3: Black 16x1 LCD and USB emulator upgrades

That was an excellent and very detailed pimping of the MDF3 EX5_etc As a non-DIY-electronicy guy I didnt get most of it; I certainly wouldnt attempt such a project. I made a right balls up of trying to repair my MDF2 belt - as per the thread elsewhere on here. I am now awaiting a 3rd MDF2 to arrive ...

Re: Vintage samplers

Im on the lookout for a smallish hardware sampler. They seem to be back in vogue judging by the ever increasing eBay prices. I know eBay is not the best/only marketplace. Sadly for me stuck in Sweden my s/hand purchase options are far less and even more pricy than eBay in most cases! :/

Re: SY35 syx files

I've just got myself a SY35! Used to have the TG33 and I miss some of those sounds, so I found myself with this question. Can i import TG33 sounds to the SY35 or at least try to find the matching waveforms and try to recreate those TG sounds :)
Another yahoo group to join then.

Re: Yamaha TG-33 send .sysex.

I had a TG33 but never use SysEx with it. I had the RAM soundcards to backup and load sounds. Mind you it was pre-internet days so I didnt have a compooter then either. There was a TG33 resource online but the sites seems to be offline now. The guy was called 'sealed-something' Dig around on the lin...

Re: WHEN REPLACING YOUR RUBBER BELT . . . .

What kind of error would be thrown up if this was an issue?
I guess something like 'no disk' or 'insert disk'...
