Re: USB port causes noise

It definitely sounds like electricity problem, either phase issue or ground problem in the PC, etc. I can't see how it could be a MODX problem. Try using a UPS with standard power outlets and run your PC and MODX thru it, check if that helps. I know that fixed a slight hum in one of my HS7 speakers...

Re: Montage Pack By Wojtek Olszak

I would guess that Wojtek must have only modified specific CFX samples from specific layers, or maybe just one layer, and the rest points back to the factory 'Preset' waveforms... I think it's a bit more complicated. Wojtek is using 5 user layers. I am looking only at his library file, not checking...

Re: Montage Pack By Wojtek Olszak

While Wojtek Olszak is using custom CF samples, they are looped and not so big, about 60 MB. These samples are NOT what makes this library so big. There are a few huge multi-samples used in only 7 voices - Mark I and V, and Signature 3, 4, 6, 14 and 15. By cutting these off you can reduce the librar...

Re: MODX8 Polyphony Issue - HELP -

Hey Joshuaedo, welcome to the forums! It has been covered in a number of topics already, but basically, it is NOT a bug. One way or another you are hitting the 128 voice polyphony limit. So, to figure it out you should share more information about how did you setup this performance. Do you play all ...

Re: Yamaha MODX Wishlist - Suggestions For Future Updates

Saving backup files on USB device takes quite long, a few minutes in my case, so... Incremental saving mode for user backup files! Wondering if incremental backup is technically possible somehow. It would save a lot time! Backup files are saving everything, including the library content, that's why...

Re: MODX connected to home audio AVR and home audio tower speakers...

I already tried to explain in another topic that MODX is NOT a consumer Line level (-10dBV) instrument and is hotter than your average CD, cassette, etc., player that is supposed to go to the Line In of your home entertainment system. Audio connections are not some miracle, it is actual electrical c...

Re: CFX stage patch sends signal to VAR effect

Aren't these using two types of Reverb (one in Rev and one in Var insert effect slots) as part of reproducing the "proximity" or distance in the hall effect with the Super knob? Therefore the Super knob is applying an offset to your Var = 0, which explains why it keeps sending signal to VAR. Try add...

Re: MIDI & Mixer Advice for MODX6

Why don't you just route your FA-08 audio out thru MODX Audio input and bypass the mixer altogether? You can then control your FA-08 volume using the dedicated knob on MODX, use the MODX effects on it, the Motion Control, etc...

Re: Usb Driver unstable

You should come and explain this to people at Intel and Microsoft, as they so clearly have no idea what code they are writing, and have desperate need of your superior knowledge in this regard, lol. Honestly, there were 2-3 sessions at NAMM with experts from Intel, Microsoft and PCAudiolabs present...

A problem with Montage Waveform Editor...

Hey guys, I have encountered a strange problem with Melas Montage Waveform Editor (1.2.1) recently. I used it to combine performances from a few libraries and created 3 Live Sets (using the Waveform Editor), one for each library, each containing 13-15 pages with performances. Everything was looking ...

Re: So, NAMM has been and gone - and...

While staying on the topic, some facts must be considered: - Montage had to wait about six months for it's first firmware update. To expect MODX to have firmware/features upgrade 4 months after release is unreasonable. - MOXF (MODX predecessor in the line) during it's 5 years of product life had 3 f...

Re: Live Stage MODX

Odd thing though and I am sure you noticed on this forum too. There is often a lot of discussion about things users may want but when you run a poll or as in this case put something on Ideascale the response is always a little underwhelming? Not sure why that is. Perhaps they just have no confidenc...

Re: Usb Driver unstable

The point is, the ASIO driver has nothing to do with the regular Windows applications like your web browser or your media player. Windows is using a standard USB audio driver for that. ASIO driver is in play only with the "Pro" software that can use ASIO drivers and I prefer to use it in exclusive m...

Re: Speakers

However I would turn the volume up on the keyboard and use the hi-fi volume to then control your final output. It isn't going to damage anything. Of course results may vary depending on what you have plugged into. I still have fond memories how my Casio CTK-670 destroyed my SONY audio system inputs...

Re: Is this the best price for the Yamaha MODX at the moment?

The "GHS issue" seems to be limited, at best. According to my local Yamaha Store, they sold a few MODX8 to a music school 2 months ago, where you can expect these keyboards will see a fair amount of abuse, and there have been no issues or complaints so far. Not saying there is no such issue at all, ...
