Re: OS Update Release

Actually it is that easy. It works already when you switch between performances. It also works already when using the assign 1+2 buttons. I had submitted this idea already almost a year ago on ideascale at https://yamahasynth.ideascale.com/a/dtd/SSS-between-Montage-MODX-scenes/212020-45978 and also...

Re: OS Update Release

I wonder if the idea I posted here and yamahasynth.ideascale.com regarding KBD CTRL in Scene mixing would provide for SSS-like functionality in Scenes!? If you think it might, please Up Vote my idea... Add [KBD CTRL] to SCENE Mixing! (Montage/MODX) https://yamahasynth.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Add...

Re: Yamaha MODX Wishlist - Suggestions For Future Updates

When establishing a split in a Performance, and then changing the part maintain the key range of the split instead of having to reset it every time a new part is auditioned That is already there. If you use the "Category Search" dialog to find the new part, make sure "Param. with Part" -> "Mixing" ...

Re: Yamaha MODX Wishlist - Suggestions For Future Updates

Hi, as already mentioned in the Yamaha forum, the "Triangle-" makes sense to me. However you can already put a user LFO together which I think implements the Triangle-. I created it with 2 points, "slope up/down", level 0 for both steps. I think that's what you want.

Re: Yamaha MODX Noisy Keys?

Coming back to the original noise key issue. A colleague told me about his Yamaha P45 which has the GHS keyboard and the same issue. There are many videos on YouTube which exhibit this noise, for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfGiPYiUqUE. That sounds exactly as my MODX sounded! There are a...

Re: Yamaha MODX Noisy Keys?

My other issue was the balance hammer piano sample (Montage) being played on a graded hammer action (MODX). I admit that my ear would likely have never detected a problem but why go into something with known issues? This was my only opportunity to avoid a problem, after all. Once purchased, you own...

Re: On stage: stereo or mono ?

I agree with anotherscott here. In some cases stereo is important. Since we are here on the MOX forum: I found that particularly important for the MODX and Montage piano sounds. They really sound lifeless and maybe even a little bit weird, if you mix them down to one mono channel. Not sure, they mig...

Re: Is FM-X emulation or a dedicated FM circuit?

I think there is ample evidence that it is running on a DSP in the synth. Running in dedicated hardware is really not necessary anymore these days, people have implemented FM on really cheap microcontrollers. Using dedicated hardware would not give any advantage and would be expensive and inflexible...

Re: Turning Off Reverb on Pianos

No, those settings don’t stick when switching performances . They are made for adjusting your performances on the fly. For your case adapting the performances and storing them sounds like the best approach.

Re: Turning Off Reverb on Pianos

I have nothing against an effect bypass button. But I am not sure which problem it would solve. Personally, I would not need it, because I adjust all the performances exactly as I need them and then store them. That's much better than having to remember to press the button each time I want a sound d...

Re: Turning Off Reverb on Pianos

Hi Josh, it is certainly possible and easy to do get rid of the reverb on the piano as the default setting. Adjust to your liking, store the performance, then you can use it later again. I realize that you write that you did that already. So something must have gone wrong. If I were to make a bet, t...

Re: Question on using parts 9-16 in a performance

Not exactly. Whatever the MIDI channel is, you can only trigger the first 8 from the keyboard. OR you can select one part which is then played solo from the keyboard. As for MIDI you can either have all parts react to incoming MIDI on one selected channel (eg. all on channel 3). Or you can put the M...

Re: Can't store a different master volume in MODX.

The Live Set is not containing the performances, it just points to the performances. Thus changes which are done to a performance will automatically be applied to all the places where a Live Set slot uses that performance. The only notable exception is the master volume. That one is copied to the Li...
