Re: Global pitch bend setting?

I am just désespérate with the montage/modx awfull pitch bend implementation. I play oriental music , I cannot go under +-12 setting of pitchbend. So it looks like I am stuck with my montage and what make me more désespérate is the fact that nobody care this issue in Yamaha. How can a 4000 bucks br...

Butt where the info comes from?
All I'll say at this point is that someone that was on the Voicing team for the Montage Performances who is almost always connected on one of the forums, appeared to be away the end of last week...

OS Update Release

My gut is telling me that the Yamaha Voicing team are working right now on new 'Preset' Performances for a soon to be released Update, which if true means there are new sounds being added, such as potentially the C7 piano, etc., and/or possibly due to a 3rd new VA engine being added. I can't tell yo...

Re: The super knob

I too was critical of the "Superknob", when it was first released. Not it's functionality or purpose...but the name they gave it, and the throbbing light. It just seemed so untechnical and 19th century scifi, for such a well engineered control. I never criticized its relevance or value, just the cr...

Re: The super knob

Well, the way I look at it, is when you are playing an organ chord with one hand, a synth lead with the other, what are you using your other limbs for? How are you going to switch Leslie speed when both hands are busy? Hope that gives sone ideas on why you should not let you feet go idle in a gig :...

Re: The super knob

Food pedal works best for me as I rarely play with one hand free. :) That sounds yummy! Do you eat the pedal or do you use it to eat with? This wasn't the make or break in my decision to purchase the Montage8 over the MODX8, but it is really coming in handy having Aftertouch for squealing fee...

Re: The super knob

I have a foot controller assigned to it, as I usually have both hands on the keyboard. Put aside the gimmick of the colour coding and flashing (which I turned off) and of macro controller concept it is driving (which my pedal is now driving) is very powerful. Maybe it's still new to me, but I like ...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

Yeah, what was the topic again!? :D Here's a question, on topic...If Yamaha and others don't release their sales numbers, how do we know for sure that the MODX is the hottest selling synth on the planet? Is this just hype from Yamaha, or is there some 3rd party that can verify the sales of all the v...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

I do disagree about capitalism taking away freedom of choice, unless you can provide statistical factual data on the subject. Reading up on Robert Mundell would be a good example of freedom of choice and capitalism. Justism sounds pretty good, sign me up. I guess what I'm saying is that although ca...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

America and the brits and other capitalist countrys help keep those communist and some of those other ism countrys from starving. So capitalism helps keep many of those other ism countrys afloat. I thought China basically owns the US ... A capitalist country like americas food exports to thos...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

I am pretty sure none of us here labour under the delusion that capitalism is some sort of utopia? It has it's flaws but not as many as the alternatives, all of which have proved to be non-workable. I have to respectfully disagree. Capitalism appears to have become much worse than it ever was origi...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

Actually, this would probably not work at all. A non-profit organization would need to obtain funds, just as any other company, to pay their staff (and paying them double means even more funds, so you would need to find enough fools who are convinced that those engineers are really superhumans). Th...

Re: Global pitch bend setting?

If enough of us let Yamaha know that it is an issue and we'd like to see it fixed, they may listen and provide a fix in a future OS update. Please 'Up Vote' my idea that I submitted on YamahaSynth.ideascale.com several months back, if you'd like to see this fixed (see link below): Montage/MODX Pitch...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

On the contrary. It may surprise you to know that a lot of the people who make these decisions are long time keyboard players. I know because I have met many of them. It may also be something of a surprise to know that despite Yamaha's size they are not the most profitable musical instrument makers...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

yes, thats classic capitalism. Hold onto the profit margin. It can be viewed differently. Yamaha can easily afford to update the action and hold the price steady. IOW, Yamaha can afford to make less profit and have happier owners. I agree! The people at Yamaha that make the big decisions on this st...
