Re: Yamaha MODX Wishlist - Suggestions For Future Updates

There is an empty box in the performance recorder. If YAMAHA just added copy and cut to that little box, the MODX would have a really good workstationish sequencer. Even though i will now be mostly using CUBASE, adding the copy and cut to the MODX performance recorder/sequencer would be a big thing ...

Re: The super knob

I have a foot controller assigned to it, as I usually have both hands on the keyboard. Put aside the gimmick of the colour coding and flashing (which I turned off) and of macro controller concept it is driving (which my pedal is now driving) is very powerful. I’ve had my Montage 7 for two years now...

The super knob

Im not going to lie about it. When the MONTAGE first came out I made fun of the super knob. I called it the nipple knob. Thought it was a little hyped. I didn't even give the MONTAGE much of a listen at the time cause it seemed pricey, and I was happy with my KRONOS and my MX49 midied together. Fast...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

Like, I said above, I don;t think any system can be perfect, and we all need to respect we will have different views on this, but the system allows mass producers and niche as well, and we as consumers can make our choices. have brought equipment from both the big players and the niche. Key thing i...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

America and the brits and other capitalist countrys help keep those communist and some of those other ism countrys from starving. So capitalism helps keep many of those other ism countrys afloat. I thought China basically owns the US ... A capitalist country like americas food exports to thos...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

I am pretty sure none of us here labour under the delusion that capitalism is some sort of utopia? It has it's flaws but not as many as the alternatives, all of which have proved to be non-workable. I have to respectfully disagree. Capitalism appears to have become much worse than it ever was origi...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

Yes, but capitalism also requires companies to make things that Customers want. The ones that meet market demand do well, the ones that don’t, don’t. :) You general argument is sound, though. :) Imagine the sort of synths we’d have under a socialist construct. We probably would not have progressed ...

Re: MODX Songwriters ?

I have composed/recorded +50 original instrumentals on my Kronos 88. I have the MODX8 in my plans for a purchase. I think it will be great to continue my creativity on multi track original songs using MODX. I am not finding serious and similar MODX songwriters on YouTube or SoundCloud. if you are o...

And don't forget that in today's money, a DX7 which sold (from memory) for around £1,500 in 1983 would cost around £5,000 when you take inflation into account. The MODX (even the Montage) is spectacular value in comparison.

Good point Derek.

Re: Pedal steel guitar for MODX

I was able to tweak the MODX Pedal Steel and now it sounds as good as my old KRONOS's Pedal Steel , or at least my ears. A little different character but I am very satisfied. I was a little surprised how a few simple tweaks made a world of difference. The problem with MODX factory Pedal Steel is it ...

Re: Total MODX Units sold since last October ?

I do not have the knowledge you guys have and my comments are just a guess.
But when you consider how inexpensive the MODX is and how popular it is, We may find a few years down the road that it sold more
than the DX7.

My comments are not based on anything, just trying to read the tea leaves, lol.
