Re: Boot A4000 ( sampler ) bypassing hard disk , possible ?

Long time ago, when ex5tech.com was still alive and kicking I posted a very long article in there about a 64 GB upgrade for the A5k. Along with the hardware modifications the article described how I loaded the entire series of Yamaha sample CDs on the A5K so that I did not need to carry a CD drive a...

Re: Yamaha A5000 simm error

I DON'T know if you've seen it, but THIS thread might be of interest? https://yamahamusicians.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5896 Chris I think he saw that already and that is why he asked me to sent him the OS upgrade files I had. Interestingly enough the OS upgrade links from the other thread are stil...

Re: Yamaha A5000 simm error

Is it possible to take a high resolution picture of one of the SIMMs (I assume all are the same) and post it? I am curious to see if there are any labels on the SIMMs or what does each of the chips of the module has printed on it or what the SIMM module looks like.

Thanks,
DrF

Re: Site Maintenance

I have lived in several states since I came to the USA but for now I am in Western Pennsylvania. Not sure for how long I will be here though. The virus took a hit on the economy and the budget of several states that took a hit on university budgets and now they downgrade everything to hopefully save...

Re: Site Maintenance

It's almost 8:30pm in the USA as I type this and the site is super slow. Links take time to load, private mail is even slower, etc. I like the country flags too. Even though I don't recognize many of them. My brother used to draw all the flags of the planet by memory. He could remember shapes, color...

Re: Why we all wear masks - or should (2020 Corona vision #masks4all)

Too much crap is going on around these days by a lot of people who suddenly became experts... If you have a mask and you want to wear it when you are outside the house go ahead and do it. It won't matter unless you are near someone that has the virus and coughs or sneezes (someone that coughs or sne...

Re: The Lock Down

I wonder just how many people need to die before some take this virus seriously :( Perhaps they don't have much to live for that's why they don't care. Unfortunately one side effect of that modern civilization we humans developed is loneliness. There are a lot of lonely people out there, even when ...

Re: The Lock Down

Here is a short video of a sweet 4-year old child that talks about hoarding. I found it on the many sites I visited in the last few days. You may have already seen it somewhere. Now why is it that this kid makes more sense than many adults I don't know. There are humans and then there are humans... ...

Re: The Lock Down

It is more than an eye opener... humans must think how it's possible despite all that amazing technology they developed in recent years to have a tiny little thing they cannot even see (with bare eyes) affect their existence to that degree. I am afraid however, based on past historical events, that ...

Re: The Lock Down

Not as funny as the pictures and other stuff already posted but it does make a point: 2 bottles.jpg By the way I was just checking that feed from California I posted earlier. I saw people strolling around as if nothing has happened. A police car was strolling among them too. The officers did not bot...

Re: The Lock Down

We should take all the politicians, and strap them to rockets, and shoot those rockets into the sun. I agree but because a lot of people in the US are nice people they would never do that. We dislike someone but we don't really hate someone. At least that is how I feel. Let's not forget however tha...

Re: Tip: Check inside used equipment :-)

Something like this is more preferable: https://www.adafruit.com/product/783 It requires re-wiring to make it work as a 3V supply instead of 6V. Two 3V batteries will last a very long time. Ni-MH batteries have a high discharge rate. Within a year they would be down enough to cause data loss. The bi...

Re: What the Future Holds?

What I DON'T understand about the American situation is this: How in the Hell can it be justified, that "ordinary People" can own Military Grade Automatic Weapons - AK47s etc These are clearly NOT intended nor designed for "Recreational Use". I have an "acquaintance" w...

Re: Toilet paper madness

There was a time that people were using newspaper as toilet paper. And the ink was not of good quality if you get my point. Now that we have internet you cannot find newspapers anymore... :) I heard that fights broke up in California for toilet paper and bottled water. Let's say that I understand th...

Re: Behringer goes on the offensive!

I don't know who Mr Kirn is nor do I care to find out. But he and everyone else who likes to criticize others should know that those others have the same rights. The statement applies to journalists/citizens vs politicians/actors/scientists, students vs professors, patients vs doctors, and on and on...
