Re: Bösendorfer Imperial Premium Grand Piano FREE download for all MODX owners

This is where I think the Kronos is so much smarter with the SSD approach: 3GB of user RAM, but the ability to do sample streaming from SSD...That doesn't stop the Montage/MODX from being a fine synth, but it is interesting to compare approaches and, it does mystify me why Yamaha still insist on de...

Re: Crashed MODX8!

Twice may not be coincidence.... Go for a third time and see what happens. Report to Yamaha. Wonder what happens with same voice on Montage? I’ll try it but it will have to wait until the weekend now as I am away. BTW I would not gig on stage without a UPS/Conditioner. As the “boot” time of these ke...

Re: MODX7 vs MODX8

Hi, I think it really comes down to personal preference and how you like your keyboards weighted, and what you styles you play If you are mainly piano and have learnt on weighted keys, then probably the MODX8 - which is lighter than my 76 Key EX5 was! I personally prefer 76 keys on a bottom tier boa...

Re: Wavestation reloaded

I've loaded an earlier version of this with no problems a few years back. Sound pretty close against my KLC Wavestation.

I'm not sure why you are concerned about viruses on the Kronos. A PCG file is data, not executable.

Re: Q for Cubase users with MODX/Montage...

Nothing wrong with Cubase either. Having been using it since 2001, and it was of course Steinberg who pioneered the VST concept.

Whichever way you go, all of these sequencers are VERY capable.

Re: RE: Moog Synth / GK Amp (help?)

Hi Derek, I kinda know what you mean. I know when playing a bass thru a keys amp it can sound terrible! But because I would literally only be playing bass-lines (and the timbre/freq. of the Moog set to a 'deep' tone) I am anticipating it might be OK? Ta, Paul Hi, Paul I would say it depends on the ...

Re: RE: Moog Synth / GK Amp (help?)

Hi,

I'd be wary of pushing keyboards through guitar amps, as they are optimised for those instruments and rarely have a full frequency response, which may or may not be an issue for bass sounds you want to make with the Moog.

Maybe worth finding the specs of the amp and checking them.

Re: Arturia Keylab MKII

I think you will be impressed with the Arturia package (I am guessing it will come with Analog Lab), but of course it depends on what you want to play, and if you want realistic emulations of vintage gear. The Arturia V collection gives me access to a whole load of iconic vintage keyboards, that I d...

Re: Arturia Keylab MKII

This is the thing. Everyone I have spoken to today has said that given a choice they would choose a 73 or 76 note version. Perhaps they have been asking the wrong people in the wrong places  Or we're just a bit peculiar around here.... ;) Looking back at my main boards either in my keyboard ...

Re: Arturia Keylab MKII

Hi, Saul Well, thanks for asking. :) Why do I want this size? I've mentioned before that I gig with two tiers. 61 is fine on the top, but too small for the bottom, especially when you have several sounds mapped across the board. Whilst I do a lot of patching changing in songs via my MIDI foot contro...

Re: Arturia Keylab MKII

Looks a good bit of kit. But I will raise my usual question about where a 73/76 note version is! :)

Actually, if I were to go for one, it would probably be one of the smaller ones as my Montage gives me my 76 note fix :)

Hello and welcome.

I just tried downloading the link at the top of the thread (it is on one of my web spaces) and it downloaded fine.

Can you try again (link provided again below for convenience)?
