Re: Just listen to the Fusion . . . . .

They say that beauty is only skin deep, but I find that ugly goes straight to the bone.....

Re: Memories of "Return to the Cente of the Earth"

I still say, who else could couple Ozzy Osbourne with the English Chamber Choir and make it work? A pure prog moment!

New Wavestate Owner

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on the Wavestate :) https://cdn.korg.com/uk/products/upload/bf23c3b89853cec27a61b41837c561f5_pc.jpg PMT Online were selling them for £499 and their Black Friday sale knocked that down to £449. I would not have paid the original RRP, but at that price.the GAS kicked...

Re: Reasonably Priced FS1R for sale on eBay

Seems to have gone for the same order of magnitude as others; makes me almost tempted to sell mine, as I don't use it much, but I think I would regret it if I did.

So what new gear are you going to get?

Black Friday Waldoof Largo deal -$29.99 (83% off!)

Lots of good Black Friday deals about (I'll tell you about mine later :) ) - but do be careful to check what the normal pre-sale price is! ;) Here is a bargain. I already have Largo myself, but if you want a Wave Table VST from the originator of the concept, now is a good time to grab a copy of Larg...

Re: Just listen to the Fusion . . . . .

I have to say that the Appearance of the Fusion was NOT my prime concern. When I retired (AKA - was made redundant), I decided I wanted a new board of some kind - NOT that I didn't love my SY85 IWhen I looked further into the Fusion though, I was blown away by what was on offer. The four synth engi...

Re: Just listen to the Fusion . . . . .

It is very well laid out. Everything is placed so you can get to where you need to be very quick. I was talking to Sasha last night about the look of the Fusion. She has a background in design and she had the same reaction to it as Derek ;) She went through the process of why it doesn't sit well wi...

Re: Just listen to the Fusion . . . . .

The EX5, much like all other Yamaha, Korg and Roland synths is an ugly oblong slab of dull nothingness. The Fusion is the work of art. There absolutely zero aesthetic value in the EX5...unless of course, you actually prefer featureless oblong boxes. But then again, just because I don't see the beau...

Re: Just listen to the Fusion . . . . .

See, in that picture the EX5 is a synth of beauty compared to the ugly duckling Fusion ..... Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder of course, and looks like I am out gunned by all the Fusion lovers! :D Going the other way, the most understated synth I have in my collection is what I used to refer to...

Re: Just listen to the Fusion . . . . .

Loved the styling as soon as I saw it. I absolutely hate boring oblong boxes, which most synths come in. I would have thought by now that with something as creative as a synth the actual styling might have been given some thought. Huge Kudos to Alesis for trying to do something different. Obviously...

Re: Just listen to the Fusion . . . . .

it does sound very good, but I have always hated the styling - which I think totally sucks (personal view of course). But sonically, an underrated multi-engine gem like the EX5

Re: Keep an eye on your bank balance for fraudulent transactions!

I reconcile my current and credit card accounts against my own history I keep in an accounts manager package at least weekly, and I still do that manually (so I have to look at each transaction) as opposed to the automated downloads you can get from most financial houses, and I want it balanced down...

Re: Line 6 Helix 3.0 Major Firmware Update!

Will be updating to that on the weekend :) My only disappointment in this update is that Line6 appear to be ignoring the requests from many users (myself included) to include models from the X3 series that are missing in action (they will have the DSP code). I am in the process of migrating from my ...

Re: Pianoteq 7 Just Released

It's always a toss up between Pianoteq or or SGX-2 in my Kronos as to which one I use; they are both superb sounding pianos. However, the way I look at Pinaoteq is how I look at IK Multemedia's Hammond clone wheel; if it is endorsed by Hammond Suzuki then it must be good. Diito for Pianoteq when you...

Re: Reasonably Priced FS1R for sale on eBay

That is certainly a reasonable start price for what is now a rare unit. The only other one on ebay at present is a "buy it now" at three times that price.
