I have 1983 vintage calculators from them that just keep going and going.
So do I - it's a CASIO fx-82LB from 1989. Still going strong.

Hi N I G E L,

and welcome to the forum :D

I still haven't found someone who wants to part from a German version :( - but I may consider your suggestion to have it printed at a copyshop - so thanks for that (Y)

Re: Power Adapter Connector Size

Wait! I just saw another replacement where the DC plug's inner diameter is only 2.1 mm!!! You should take a vernier caliper and measure the middle pin of the DC jack of the PSR220 to make sure what's really needed!

Re: Power Adapter Connector Size

Hi SoundMan, welcome to the YamahaMusicians forum :D The dimensions of the DC power plug that goes into the PSR 220 are: 5,5mm (outer diameter) x 2,5mm (inner hole diameter) . Here's an example for a replacement that should fit: akku-king.net/netzteil-ladegeraet-fuer-yamaha-pa-3-pa-3c-pa-3b-pa-40-pa...

Re: Strange low rumbling when pressing keys on dx7

If you're 'only' in need of the firmware chip - I can submit the firmware binary file for the latest firmware version so you (or someone else who's able to do it) can burn the chip by yourself. What model of the DX7 do you have there? I suppose it's the (so-called) DX7 Mk.I (aka 'Brownie')?

There are 2 TL072s in the mainboard: IC54 and IC55. IC54 was certainly the faulty one, but i replaced both with two brand new TL082s just to be sure.
Great - thanks for the detailed information - could be of valuable help for others facing the same or a similar issue to track down the culprit... (Y)

Re: DX7 II FD collapses to white noise on boot

Question 2: Are IC 15 and IC 16 factory loaded with program or do they get it from the ROM on startup? Hi Nigel, IC16 (HD63B03YP - CMOS 8-bit single chip microprocessor) only has 256 bytes of RAM, no ROM aera (afaik). IC15 (HD6805S1P - CMOS 8-bit single chip microprocessor) has 64 bytes of RAM and ...

Re: Strange low rumbling when pressing keys on dx7

Hi hucky, have you already tried to reset/initialize your DX7? If its not the case do the following: DX7 Mk. I : switch ON your synth, then press and hold the [FUNCTION] , [16] and [32] keys. DX7IID/FD : switch ON your synth, then press and hold the [EDIT] , [16] and [32] keys. If you have patches y...

Re: GEM ws1 service manual

Ok, Saul, thought it is the same board, which has socket for the connection of scale arabic, the problem is where to get the OS operating system of the oriental version. I suppose the OS (or at least one half of it) is located in IC18 which is an eprom. So you have it already - a swap to a 'new' ma...
