Well - as for the holder(s) - maybe you'll find this little gem helpful (I have 3pcs lying around here already):

Re: DX11 please Help!

Thanks for that information, Miks. Is that also true for the TX81Z ? Mine still have their original batteries, but they won't last forever. It seems logical that on the TX81Z those data are in ROM (not RAM) since it does not have a cartridge reader, but I'id like to be sure. After a quick look into...

Re: DX11 please Help!

Hi Brian, welcome to the forum (Y) This is the reset procedure for the DX11 (as per Yamaha): WARNING: All user-stored data (Internal Voices, Performances) will be deleted. If the current settings and data are not expendable, create a backup before executing the Factory Reset. This can be done by per...

Re: Yamaha DX7 II-D power "restart" problem

Hmmm - maybe the power supply has a thermic problem... and therefore sometimes 'produces' a glitch which resets the synth...

I'll try to put new *.syx files to DX7 and see, what'll happen. :)
Yes, good idea. But on the other hand - I (personally) have never heard or experienced that a 'broken' syx-file can cause such an issue like this sporadic reset of a DX7...

Re: Yamaha DX7 II-D power "restart" problem

Oh - sad to hear you still have trouble with your synth... Does it only occur when in Performance mode and maybe using a certain 'repository'? Let's say for example: if you choose Performance Nr. # 17 the synth restarts, all other Performance Nr's work ok? Does the synth behave 'normal as it...

Re: sy77 as master keyboard - disable internal sound

I don't know if you'll ever need it - but take a look at page 235 of the (English version) Reaper user guide: 13.9.1 Sysex Events The shown picture (upper right corner) shows a (kind of) menue where you can type in a sysex command in order to be send to a synth. This is how it should look to turn lo...

Re: sy77 as master keyboard - disable internal sound

@ casac: on your SY77 (as well as on a SY99) you can 'switch' the local 'sound generating' ON and OFF via MIDI. Many DAW's can do that. All you have to do is to send one of the following system exclusive messages (sysex): F0 43 10 34 0F 00 00 31 00 00 F7 = Local OFF or F0 43 10 34 0F 00 00 31 00 7F ...

Re: sy77 as master keyboard - disable internal sound

Hmmm - I'm NOT familiar with any DAW/VSti at all but I suppose it's velocity-related . If you play the keys on your SY77 it submits the different velocity values of your playing (via MIDI). But 'hitting' a 'key' on your VSti application is 'only just a click' (you can't click 'softer' or 'harder') a...

Re: sy77 as master keyboard - disable internal sound

I can confirm that on my SY99 the Local function returns back (from OFF ) to ON after switching the synth Off and back On again... If Local Off Made no difference, it is probably because your computer was feeding the MIDI back to the SY? I also think it might be an 'Echo' coming via the MIDI connect...

Re: sy77 as master keyboard - disable internal sound

Hello, when I connect the synth to external device I would like to disable the sounds of the synth and use that of the external device. How can I do this? now if I press a note on the synth I hear the external sound without latency (with ASIO driver) and then with a lot of latency I hear the same s...

Re: Yamaha DX7 II-D power "restart" problem

Oh - what an outcome! Then your uncle did the battery swap in a 'not so professional way' 8O

But now the issue seems to be fixed so I'll cross my fingers that your DX will work flawlessly from now on 0-)

And thanks for reporting back... (Y)
