Re: Can the TG500 firmware be upgraded

Of course battery has been replaced and battery voltage is good. Ah ok - didn't know that when I replied... In test mode after the internal memory has vanished message only the rolling TG500 message is shown and then hangs. Normal non test mode operation shows only the rolling TG500 message and the...

Re: Can the TG500 firmware be upgraded

Hi PlayYam1, welcome to the forum :D First of all I recommend to measure the battery's voltage (since you wrote that the internal memory has vanished). If too low (let's say under 2.5 V) please replace it - best by a holder and a CR2032 coin cell. Then try to access the in-built test program by swit...

Re: Dx7iid question/help

Hi Seanlyons80, welcome to the forum (Y) I can't see any 'abnormal' kind of residue or scorching. That 'yellowish goo' around some of the electrolytic capacitors foot is a kind of glue, applied by the manufacturer. Obviously to fasten components to the pcb not to wiggle lose during transportation......

Re: Emulating a BC3 ?

• what type of connector does the "BREATH" socket of an EX5 require? (3,5 mm TRS ?) Yes - as far I can tell from my EX5R and from the schematic • is it an active or a passive device? It's an active device, powered by -12V & +5V (Analog) - see schematic from the service manual (which you hopefully h...

Re: DX7 II FD collapses to white noise on boot

Hi Miks, I just tried a new IC15 (HD6805S1P) and the DX7 boots and looks normal on the LEDs but nothing else happens. So I think I can confirm that this has a program on board. I replaced the old one and all works. R's NB Thanks for reporting back your finding(s) (Y) Good to know that there obvious...

Re: DX7II-D No sound from L&R Jacks or headphones works as midi controller

I also suggest to check (by using a scope) if the DAC PCM54HP (Digital to Analog Converter), which is IC37, will produce an output signal - therefor check at Pin 19 of the YA3 board while pressing a key on the keyboard.
