Re: Why we all wear masks - or should (2020 Corona vision)

I realise that many are trying to help by posting anything which seems to be helpful about SARS-2 and there is a great temptation to jump on anything which seems even slightly helpful but please do not add to the growing mountain of contradictory information about what 'works' and what 'doesn't work...

Re: Coronavirus: Prime Minister Boris Johnson tests positive

Sorry Chris but although there is some good advice there (stay clear of everybody else) there are just too many so-called 'experts' with access to social media channels. There should be an intelligence test introduced before you are allowed to text/post/tweet/chat to the whole world. I wonder how ma...

Re: AN1X Guide Book Support Disk

Glad to have been able to help! Are there any comparisons you care to mention between the AN1X and your Prophet given the alleged ancestry of the AN1X?

AN1X Guide Book Support Disk

I'm sure Yamaha won't mind me putting this up here. From the Readme:

"The MDR data (2 files) contains the data for the guide (guide book voices and tweaks). The type 0 midi files contain the data for the guide, and also an additional set of 'bonus' voices for your pleasure."

Re: The Cat Thread

A very distinguished and regal looking cat, absolutely adorable. All pumped up now, can't resist posting a recent couple of our dynamic duo, especially as we have had to rescue two LIVE mice this morning from the house who were being stalked by the Cattfields! Tilly, doing what she does best... P628...

Re: What the Future Holds?

Not sure how this relates to the topic, but perhaps we should leave the medical recommendations to the specialists? I could also assert that it is also proven that one or two of the main infection vectors is touching infected people (handshake etc.) or surfaces touched by infected people and the lif...

Re: eBay helps buyers scam sellers! This is how.

eBay used to be my first port of call to buy or to sell something. Now, it is my last. It seems that they are simply becoming an Amazon wannabe, with lesser standards. Regrettably, with such a spider's web of international offices and locations I am no longer sure that any country's trading standard...

Re: EX5 Sound wavering out of tune

You might also check that there is no aftertouch assigned, or send a chord via MIDI to avoid the key-bed completely. It does not have the feel of a PSU issue, if they have a problem they tend to just fail.

Re: Would you purchase a Korg Kronos Rack version?

I would - I'd like a Kronos but have enough key-beds now especially with the Artura KeyLab II so my next acquisition will be a rack and only a rack (not even a desktop).

Re: EX5 Firmware Versions

It is indeed. It can get a bit sloppy though if, for example, you play a bunch of chords sequentially using a patch with with long sustain/release then eventually chords sound more like an arpeggio :) With careful planning you can mitigate some of the MIDI issues though - unlike GM boxes which give ...

Re: EX5 Firmware Versions

IIRC there were improvements made around version 1.0C/1.0D however I have never seen any official documentation to confirm. There is anecdotal information which indicates improvements in MIDI timing around those versions and it is definitely a good thing anyway to bring such an old version up to dat...

Floyd Steinberg EX5 Voice Set on EX5Tech UK

Folks, Floyd Steinberg has graciously consented to permit us to carry the latest version of his voice set for the EX5 on Ex5Tech UK. You can find it there and courtesy of Derek Cook's very excellent ex.factory (along with many other excellent librarians) there is a full report of the voice set in th...

Re: format usb pen

If the USB pen is a floppy emulator then probably it has a maximum size of 1.44Mb per emulated disk so you would not be able to exceed that size. You would have to check the documentation of the USB adapter to see if any options are available. The usual way is to install a Zip/Jaz/MO/CD/CF/SD drive ...
