That's GREAT Miks. I really enjoyed listening to that.

That tune is always a joy to hear.

I was only in a band for a short while years ago (gtr + vocals then) and I really do miss the BUZZ you get from standing there and DOING IT.

The Choir Stuff I do is great to do (don't get me wrong) but its NOT the same as a small select GROUP "doing stuff".

It's incredibly addictive. It's no wonder some of these guys we admire just don't stop - and literally "do it 'til they drop"

Hi, Miks

Pretty good. So many guitar players cannot quite get that Gilmour laid back bluesy (without being 12 bar!) vibe, and often get the rhythm part for that song not quite right (the right delay settings and playing against it is the key), but your man has got it. The vocals are pretty good as well.

If you don't mind me making one small observation (having played this song inside out and back to front for the past 10 years!), I would lose the pad in the Verse. In Welsh Floyd I was singing at that point, so still had something to do, and I then came in on the choruses with a nice organ, with lots of Leslie switching! The sparseness of the verses compared to the organ coming in on the choruses (nice Glissando sweep to announce it as well) then had a lot more punch and raised the chorus. That itself is not quite the studio original, but it is more effective live.

It's only a small point in an otherwise good track, and I doubt many people would notice or care, but I am so used to there just being guitar and bass there in the verse! :)

I agree with Chris about getting out there. I've had a hiatus from playing live for ten months since quitting Welsh Floyd and am missing the live vibe. It's been a crazy work year, which has not given me much free time, and I have held back from doing anything until I got my new keyboard rig together (more on that later), but I am now going out solo this afternoon with the new rig and with a bunch of varied original and a few Floyd "alternative renditions" to the local open mic afternoon to get back into the swing and hopefully meet a few local musicians which might lead to something. I am also testing to see if the venue would like a bit of solo electronica. So I've got quite a varied hour's worth of music.
Regards
Derek Cook

Hi guys,
I'm glad you seem to like 'our version' of this great song  Mind you we're just a 'hobbyist band' 8)

Valid point - since I'm the keyboard player I'll see if I/we can change that the way you suggested...

Unfortunately the organ sound (coming from my DX7II/D running through a Boss RT20) during the guitar solo is a little bit quiet so the on and off of the 'leslie' effect is a little bit dense...

Hi,

Great to see someone still using an M1 and a DX7ii. It was almost like a mirage!
