How do you access patch list for the MX61 keyboard in Pro Tools?

Has anyone been successful in downloading or accessing the MX61/49 keyboard sound patches as a list in Pro Tools (using PT 12) where you can select them from your computer? After reading the manual, I get the sense that it appears to only work in Cubase (they call it the Voice List?). I hope I'm wrong.

So does anyone use Pro Tools and know if I can call up the MX61 sounds using my PT DAW?

I used to support ProTools years ago, back at version 7, but we really only used it for Audio . . . .

I would guess that you need to find (or make) what would be called an "Instrument Definition File" of the MX61 - for ProTools.

This file would contain details of the internal instruments, their Names, and where they are inside the MX, which Bank etc . . .

When you load that into ProTools, it will then know where everything is INSIDE the MX, and you should be able to then call them up

into a midi track, and have the MX play them . . . .

I've been away from PT a long time, but I would have hoped that this feature should be there by now . . . . . ?

I use Reaper, and, like PT, it started life as a Audio WS and bolted-on Midi later . . . .

Reaper CAN do this, and I did in fact create an Instrument definition file for my Alesis Fusions . . . . and it works . . . :)

perhaps that helps . . .
