MIDI Volume Control - MX88

Unread post by Dave12358 »

Is there a way to balance (reduce) the MIDI input volume with respect to the on-board volume of the keyboard? I am trying to play along with a music track on my laptop which is input to the MX 88 via a MIDI input. Both the recorded track and the keyboard play fine through the headphones, but the recorded track is WAY too loud compared to the keyboard volume.

Each of the 16 MIDI channels has its own volume control, which is set using CC #7. And of course, each Note On event has a velocity value that also affects that note's volume. So if you want to reduce the volume of a particular channel without having to modify the velocity of every single Note On event for that channel, turn down the Channel Volume for that channel.
