DBX 166XS to Yamaha MG16XU

Unread post by Sparkybear » Thu Aug 29, 2019 8:47 pm

Hi Guys

I am hoping someone can help me as I am VERY new to mixing desks etc.

I have a DBX 166XS Compressor/Gate which I use in my "youtube studio". Originally, it was connected to a Mackie mixer. It was all setup for me at the time by someone who knew what they were talking about, unlike me lol.

Unfortunately, my Mackie Mixer died and I had to replace it. I was fortunate to get the opportunity to get a Yamaha MG16XU mixer from someone who was moving out of the country.

I have figured most stuff out HOWEVER, I havent the slightest clue on how to properly connect the DBX to the Yamaha mixer.

I have two Rode NT1 mics which are presently plugged into Channels 1 and 2 respectively. I do have other equipment plugged into some of the other channels (No mics), but obviously only want the DBX working with the mics.

All help is very much appreciated.
