Save sounds in DAW

Unread post by 73grad » Sun Aug 19, 2018 8:57 pm

Hi!
I am wondering: How to i store my sounds from a multi in my daw or at least: how can I recall a performance with the DAW?
Is there any new function concerning sound-browsing with a vst plugin on the montage in the 2.5 update?

thanks
Chris

Hi. I haven't tried it myself, but this is what Montage Connect should help you with storing Performances (Montage does not have multis of voices).

I don't think it covers sound browsing, but does mean that the Performance you recorded with is saved in your project (not too fussed about that myself, I just use Cubase track notes to list what I used!

If you've updated to 2.5 then I think you need to update Montage Connect and the USB drivers as well.

Connect does exactly what you need, its a simple little program/vst. Just make a track in your project and assign the plugin to it, then you can store and recall your instrument sounds and keep them saved with your song.

If you need a full blown library you want that John Melas software, which is excellent.

The Montage Connect VST plugin can be used as a virtual instrument in a DAW, for example Cubase. It allows you to save the full performance with all settings from the Montage with the song. When the song is loaded the performance can be transmitted to the Montage. It is not necessary to store the performance on the Montage itself. It is sufficient to store it with the song. Works great in Cubase.

There is no way to browse the performances on the Montage with a VST as far as I know.
