Interesting Bass

Unread post by jllp128 »

I few months ago ago I acquired a rather interesting bass guitar. It was advertised as being a 1990's Aria bass but upon checking the s/n etc I have established that it is an 1970's lawsuit Rickenbacker copy. Parametric advised that he thought that members of tyhe forum would be interested in seeing it even though it is not a Yamaha model

Yes indeed, that is a copy very true to the original design, if it wasn't for the name on the headstock, it's a ringer.

Is the SOUND close to a Rick ?

Thanks for posting.

The sound is very true to the original Ricky sound, although it only has a single jock so is not capable of the 'stereo' sound that the original rRicky is.

Sorry that this isn't a Yamaha, it's a Crafter. It has a lovely action and sounds a lot better than you'd expect for guitar that only cost £90.

I like the look of this :-)
I'd be interested in hearing this if at all possible. I was interested in stripping my bass down
and wiring it up it's internals like a Rickenbacker at some stage (crazy idea, I have the plans somewhere).

Is the neck pick up an original to the bass, or was it added after?
other wise it looks a lot like my P bass copy. (except minor differences to the head)
