NBAD - New Bass Amp Day

Yes, it's a Bass amp:

LARGE, HEAVY and LOUD combo amp.
100 watts RMS, all transistor.
15 inch speaker in a bass reflex cabinet.
52 kilos on wheels.

I found this unloved amp about 50 kilometers from my home, price was only 250DKR.

Seller said it needed some cleaning up including cleaning all pots.
The job was easy, it took about an hour, and it really wasn't as bad as described.

High and Low inputs.

Volume , Bass , Middle, Treble , Bright , Distortion.

Distortion on/off can be controlled by any generic single latching pedal switch.

The back provides jacks for rec/line out and distortion remote switch,
and voltage selector for: 110 , 130 , 220 and 240 volts ac.

Like many other Yamaha combo amps, I'm not too happy with the built in distortion.
The amp is loud and clear when running it clean.
If overdrive/distortion is required, I'd rather use a good effect pedal between bass and amp input.

All in all, I'm very happy having this sound monster in my collection, and the price was a steal.

Peter

I'll bet that baby moves some air. Is it from the 80s?
Congrats. Always nice to add to the collection.
