Line 6 has done a good job here. ((i))

This amp can do just about anything.
Not too happy about using Ipad even though it's super high tech.

Peter

I use the iPad all the time so it's not something unusual for me but I can certainly understand it may seem a little odd to plug one into an amp. I suppose it comes down to "does it bring anything to the table" or is it just a gimmick? From what I have seen so far it looks like a little of both but I still like it :)

I must be getting old, rejecting the equipment that's just TOO HIGH TECH for me.

I just feel that this modern gear requires too many outside gadgets to work properly.
Nothing wrong with that actually, and younger guitar players will get more options,
and possibly easier access to the tones they are looking for.

So far, I've only rejected 2 modern things ..... smartphones/Ipads and facebook,
and I won't go down that lane before it becomes absolutely necessary, if ever.

Peter

They'll get you Peter. One way or another.
When I set up a new part of my business I needed a web site. The service would not agree to manage it without a Facebook link. So I was stuffed after years of refusing to join in.

Why would they not manage it without a Facebook link?

I don't think anyone should be pressured into iPhones, iPads or social media and I think it's a sad reflection on where we are when people are made to feel like they are in some way old fashioned or behind the times. Personally I wouldn't be without any new tech but that IS a personal decision and to each their own :)

They said because the responses would be much better with Facebook exposure. Which is proven by the results unfortunately.

Well i would agree that social media is very useful in promoting your business or product but to say they would "refuse" to take it on without you having a facebook pages is a bit odd.

Line 6 Spider V 240HC Head/Combo Amplifier.

Unread post by Buzzard » Sun Mar 26, 2017 11:22 am

IMO , NOTHING, so far beats the Yamaha THR-10 / THR-10C or THR-10X in versatility and portability.

Here's one that can give the THR's a run for their money. :!:  Line 6 Spider V 240HC Head/Combo Amplifier.

This head/combo features 4 built in full range stereo speakers putting out a handsome 50 watts, for practice and jamming.
For gigging, this monster churns out 240 watts to one or two cabinets.
A built in receiver, can handle wireless signals from any of the Line6 RELAY transmitters, the Relay10, can be charged in the amp input.

A bit heavier to carry, but absolutely impressive stuff. ((i))

The "rap" and the specs:

The Spider V 240HC head and speaker cabinet are designed for the gigging guitarist who desires amazing power and volume.
The amp head delivers 240 watts of power and features 200+ amps and effects, and an internal wireless receiver.
The amp head even has built-in stereo speakers for standalone practicing and jamming.
The Spider V 412, 4x12" cabinet combines with the amp head and forms an optimized massive full-range speaker system.

Specs
•240 watts of power
•Amp head features 2 x 4” speakers and 2 tweeters for stand-alone practicing (50-watts)
•Wireless-ready for Line 6 Relay transmitters
•XLR direct outputs for live use
•Built-in 60-second looper for layering guitar tracks to play over
•Over 200 amps, effects, and cabs—more than any other amp in its class
•USB interface and free recording software to record your best ideas
•Drum loops and a built-in metronome for honing your chops
•Match with Spider 412 stereo cabinet to create a stage-ready, bi-amped full range speaker system

I have been looking at the Spider V 240HC ever since they announced it. Very tempting indeed! If things pan out over the next few months it could definitely be making an appearance in my living room :)
