THR Librarian App

Unread post by Omelete » Wed Sep 04, 2019 4:07 pm

Hey folks!
I've just started doing some editing with the Yamaha software and It was very pleasing to be able to edit some dialing that are not possible to do on the amp itself. Specially to my electric guitars, the treble was too too much strong to my taste, so I made very nice tones even for jazz. But how could I use that in a concert, seen that in the THR5A you can NOT load the patches back to the amp? If I have to take my macbook with me, that will not be so handy anymore as if I take only this tiny lunchbox.... but that is until I find the THR Librarian, which is an app, unfortunately only for androids so far. So I got my wife's samsung tablet and installed it, even bought the full version, and it does work fine with an otg cable, the problem is that in my case, there is some kind of bug that the app is not recognizing my amp, I can load the patches I did on my notebook, but not able to edit anything within the app on the tablet. Has anyone tried that and would have some feedback? Cheers!!!!

Yeah, the THR-5 and THR-5A do not have the 5 preset buttons.
To load a patch, you do need some kind of computer/pad/phone,
and as you said, then it's less portable.

I can't help you with the app , I'm old school using a Nokia phone, and a Konica Minolta camera. :(

If you get hold of a THR-10 or THR-10C , you can get almost the same settings,
plus some extra features including presets amps and cabinets.

Peter

Hey Peter. I was thinking about if I should've bought the thr 10, but I like the way both of my silent guitars, nylon and steel sound good on the thr5a, maybe if I try them with a thr-10 I will know and maybe could try to trade mine. But regarding the app, the developers are trying to solve that problem, thank you!
