Thank you for the download. I recently started using my thr10c again and can't believe that little amp. The sound is so good my other amps are gathering dust.

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum and the string section. :D

I'm glad you got your THR running again.
Even though it's now an older model, it's still one of the most versatile tools for designing sounds.

 Keep an eye out for this download section since there will still be updates of patches and libraries.

Yeah, download some of the THR-10 libraries, and mod them to your liking.

Here's an example of a guy doing a great job on ambient guitar:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTkJcYhss6E

He is using pedals, but the THR have those effects too, so you can get pretty close.
All you need to copy his styles is a volume pedal between your guitar and your THR.

BTW. thanks for uploading your sound patches. ((i))

Ok, so I returned my THR and preordered the Spark. There was a 275 pound price difference i could not ignore. When i get it and if it sucks i will send that back a re order the THR. Be Gentle.

Hi, another older dude learning to play checking in. I have a thr10 and a strat. Some of the first songs I'm learning need a different sound to what I can get from the tone dials on top. I've been looking at patches and had some success in getting them to work, but, I'm still spending far too much time finding a tone (unsuccessfully) than I should be and not enough time learning the song. Any suggestions for Sympathy For The Devil (Ya Ya version). I know he used a 58 and I only have a strat, so there's that to consider too.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum and the string section. :D

Why not just download a whole library, find a sound that comes close.
Then tweak till it's spot on (to your ears) and the guitar you're using.

Thanks for the welcome.

I have been trying that, I downloaded a few libraries and have spent far too much looking and not enough time learning. I can't find one that cuts even as 'close enough'. Which from the libraries would you recommended fiddling with? Best regards,

It's really straight forward …
To my ears they use an amp with only a little bit of overdrive and then a dash of reverb + possibly a tiny bit of chorus.
I also guess a Les Paul neck pickup was used, so in your case, use neck or neck+middle on your strat, dim the tone a bit.
To boost a strat signal, some compression was used too + some noise gating.

Here's a patch that can be tweaked to get close to what you want.

Even though you are VERY BUSY, I can assure you that getting the tone right is worth the time.
Don't forget to save your modded patch to either one of the 5 assigned preset buttons, or your computer.
Once you feel you've got it right, please upload and share your result.

Hi, my first post on here, just got myself a THR 10 ii.
I have downloaded the remote app on Android phone and it seems to connect ok via Bluetooth, but are there any patches that I can download that are compatible with this later model, do I need anything extra to open files etc
Thanks for any help.

Hi tonehunter, welcome to the forum and the string section. :D

The answer is: NOT YET.
I will buy one of the THR-II amps in the beginning of the new year.
Nobody (except Yamaha) has released patches and libraries for the new type so far, but it's coming.

For now you can use and mod the library already provided in the THR remote software.
There are 41 patches in the standard factory library. (at least in the PC version)

Best Regards

Thanks for the welcome and quick response 👍
That explains everything then, I will look forward to seeing that happen then.
Now I can use my time experimenting with what is there already
Cheers

Hi,

my name is Peter, I'm from Germany and new to the forum.
After a break of about 10 years I re-started to play guitar and I bought me the new THR30 one week ago.

I tried to upload a preset file for the new THR series, but the extension .thrl6p wasn't allowed.

So I post the link for the preset "Crossroads - John Mayer ": (external link removed)

Please be kind with me, it is my first try.

I use a Squiere by Fender Strat from 1994. For the preset I use the position between the neck and middle pickup, Volume ~5 and Tone to 0.

Greetings, Peter.
