Basic GENOS question for a beginner

Unread post by svend » Thu Jul 11, 2019 1:43 pm

greetings GENOS experts ;-)

is there a way for me to change the default 4 sounds that come up on power of GENOS?
Right now I have: 70's Suitcase Clean , CFX Concert Grand, KinoStrings and finally Steel Acoustic Finger

Would like to change these on start up...

Thanks!!

I don't have a Genos, so I don't know if you can change the defaults, but most Yamaha arrangers are hard-coded to start up with specific voices already selected. For instance, on my PSR-E models the default Main (or Right1) voice is Acoustic Grand Piano, the default Dual (or Right2) voice is Strings, and the default Split (or Left) voice is Finger Bass.

What a lot of owners do is set up their personal favorite voices, effects, and other settings that they want their keyboard to default to, and then they save those settings as the first registration in the first registration bank. The keyboard still powers up with its own factory-set default voices and other settings, but the first thing they do after turning on their keyboard is recall their "startup registration," as they call it.

Hi Svend,

I have the same thing with my Genos and, as far as I know, there's no way to change the default power on setup. At least I've never heard of one and I'm on a couple of other Genos related forums.

Well, what it saves is the last registration used so you just need to press a registration button to get back to your last settings if you cared to save them as a registration and it was the last one used.

Thanks for all the help! The registration idea sounds awesome! I will try that!
