Yamaha Studio Manager and PLG Cards

Unread post by puremusic » Sat Mar 09, 2019 4:20 am

Well, my PLG-100-VL arrived in the mail today, and I'm quite happy with it so far installed in my Motif ES Rack.

But I'm a bit clueless as to how to work with it and Yamaha Studio Manager.

So far I've managed to successfully 'Receive Voice Bulk' For Normal User 1, Normal User 2, etc. for the Motif ES.

But the listed 'Plug-in 1 User and Plug-in 2 User' while they look like they're downloading, just download ------ unnamed empty voice files, like nothing happened.

I had the impression I could treat one of these tabs as the PLG card's and see and manipulate its voices in the Yamaha Studio Manager? Was I wrong?

I really need to do some more reading, but I thought I'd ask what I was missing/mistaken about how to work with these? Is there a setting I'm missing adjusting somewhere? :)

Thanks for all the help here on these forums I really appreciate it. I wouldn'tve been able to get so far without you!

So far I've managed to get Rudy's VL editing demo program working, since I can't get the VL Visual Editor to boot in Windows 10. That takes care of the VL. :D

I'm hesitating however now, about how I will deal a PLG-150-AN card if I get one in the future like I've planned. Is there software for it that will work or will I have to edit everything directly on the rack? I just tried downloading Yamaha's AN Expert Editor program and it won't boot either.

Hi

The problem with PLGs is that you cannot edit them from the rack. You need a software editor. AN1xEdit is still working on my system (I will need to dig out an earlier post to get around installer issues) and it should support PLG150.

That hopefully allows you to program a PLG150 then :)
