Yamaha Synthesizers 45th Anniversary Broadcast Event

Unread post by Derek »

Hi.

Have just had the following email content from Yamaha in my inbox this morning. Looking forward to seeing what they announce for Montage and MODX as there have been no updates for a little while (so hopefully they have been keeping their powder dry)....

Yamaha Synthesizers 45th Anniversary Broadcast Event
Hello from Yamaha,

On September 22-23, the Yamaha Synth team will be broadcasting from Yamaha HQ in Hamamatsu Japan. The broadcast will feature new product updates, announcements, artist performances, demos, interviews and a tour of "Innovation Road" – a living history of all Yamaha products.

The broadcast will begin on September 22 at 1 p.m. CEST (11:00 UTC) for European viewers; the second block will begin September 22 at 1 p.m. PDT (20:00 UTC) for North and South American audiences and then finally the third at 1 p.m. JST (04:00 UTC) on September 23 for viewers on and around the Pacific coast of Asia. The first two blocks will largely be in English while the final one will largely be in Japanese.

Tune-in at facebook.com/yamahasynths.

Sincerely,
Ben Israel
R&D Planning Manager

Looking forward to this very much. I'm loving my MODX7, which seems to compliment my EX7 very well, so I'm very interested to see where Yamaha take the Montage/MODX platform next!

The EX series is still one of Yamaha’s high points. There has been nothing like FDSP since.

I sold my two EX5 synths to help fund my Montage 7, but also to get an EX5R so I could keep the EX sound in my studio.

Does anyone know if you have to be a facebook member to see these broadcasts? I am not and never ever plan to be but this looks interesting.

I'm in the same situation. Posted the same question in the yamahasynth forum so let's see if someone knows.

I'll post the response in this thread if I get any in time.

It does not hold you to anything to create a dummy FB account with no personal data or with dummy personal data in your profile and with no activity, just to be able to be logged in and to consult data and vids.

I’m not sure I will be tuning in myself depending on what we are doing at the weekend, but i am sure at some point the announcements will filter to us via other media....

Never going to happen, not with that lot!

So far no response to the actual qestion in the yamahasynth forum. The closest I got was:
I’m sure it will be like most of the Live Stream events, (NAMM, Super Booth, Launch events) where they will be archived for viewing here on this site shortly after the live feed is finished. It’s a big deal 45th Anniversary of Synthesizers... I’m quite sure if you can’t view it live, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to view it later.
Wasn't expecting much but that answer was quite unsatisfying.

I will most likely not be able to watch it live either.

The response from over on Yamaha Synth after asking if Facebook the only option...

It would be most excellent if YAMAHA squeezed out one more OS update for MODX and MONTAGE.
If they do, I guess this event will probably be the time we will know.

I am not on facebook either.
Still, looking forward to the event even if its a day or two late for me to view.
