Hope this section stays . . . . .

Unread post by parametric » Wed May 04, 2016 4:20 pm

I'm currently waiting on Akai to resolve issues with their Reaper implementation within their Host Software for the ADVANCE Series of Controllers.

If this is sorted then they make a very agreeable alternative to The NI Komplete Kontrol S Series . . . . despite not offering an 88-noter . . . .

Organising/Browsing VSTis looks to be first rate, as well as ease of access to the parameters

(I'll probably midi the Fusion to it for actual "playing" . . . . . )

When this is done - and I am using Reaper more routinely , I expect to be posting more in here as I go along . . . .

So, I'd be happy for it NOT to disappear (Y)

No reason why it should disappear?

I'm a Cubase man myself (since Cubase VST in 2001), but I'm sure there must be other Reaper users out there......

I agree Derek,

I was only responding to Saul's post . . :)
Having given the DAW section time to prove useful/popular or not it would seem it sees very little activity so I will be either removing it completely or reducing it to one or two categories. It won't be expanded again.
I would have thought Reaper would indeed be popular with those not wishing to spend a fortune?

80 quid for Cubase Elements 8 isn't that big a fortune. ;-)

Noise-making gear: Cubase Elements 8, Korg Electribe 2, Yamaha MOXF6, Novation Mininova, two guitars run through a Boss GT10 and couple of jaw-harps.
Oh yeah, and the Novation KS4 is now hooked up again(even though it has to rest vertically when not used)!

I've been using Reaper for a good few years now. I'm sure I only really scratch the surface with features and stuff - I'm not big into deep dive editing or anything. I was originally drawn to it by the cheap price but it seems to be pretty much just as good as the 'big boys'.
