connecting E-463 to WIN10 PC issue

Unread post by David_ohain »

hi all,
Unpacked my E463 today
I want to record my E463 on Reaper or Audacity.
Installed the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver ok on WIN10 PC. Then connected the E463 to PC with a USB cable. In Audacity I can select "Line (2 digital Keyboard)" both for input and output.

My problem is that when I want to record, no sound is captured by Audacity from the E463. However, playing an mp3 in Audacity will play it through the E463 loudspeakers.

What could be the reason no sound goes from my E463 to the PC ?

Many thanks,
David

This is just a guess, but are you sure selecting "Line (2 digital Keyboard)" for both input and output sounds is correct? Perhaps you should have a differently named source for the audio sent from the keyboard?
Roland FP-90 - Touchkeys - NS Wav5C Electric Cello - TEC BC - MIDI Expression
Kontakt - Arturia CS80 - Arturia Piano V - Sonivox Eighty-Eight - Spitfire Symphony Orchestra

thanks for your suggestion. I tried now also with input="Line digital Keyboar" and output="Speaker/Realtek" (PC speaker) and still keyboard sound does not get recorded by Audacity.

Re: connecting E-463 to WIN10 PC issue *solved*

Thought I put the solution as it costed me a few hours...)

This linked helped me : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... icrophones

in the Sound control pannel there is ''TEST your microphone" just below there is "Troubleshoot".

I did the troubleshoot and accepted the two fixes proposed:
1) make the keyboard the default input device
2) unmute the device (why and how it was muted i don't know).
