Replace the "super knob" with a 3rd wheel (cf. SY-99 and EX5).

The idea of a macro-controller function like the "superknob" is excellent, but the *function* itself and its dedicated *physical controller* are quite different things.

The way that physical controller has been implemented is daft, to say the least.

A 3rd wheel would be way more practical to use than a huge blinking wart in the middle of the panel.

I'd like to see volume controls have the option to "link". Be useful for those sounds that have several parts and you want to adjust the volume. At the moment you have to do each part individually and remember the offsets for each part as well.

You mean a group of parts?

Yes. For example several of the pianos have multiple parts set at different velocities...if you want to make a volume adjustment you have to individually edit each parts volume control, while carefully maintaining the same level differences between them.

On a DAW for example, you can link all volume controls so that if you move one the rest all move at the same time relative to each other and the original volume levels.

This is WITHOUT having to go through hoops and set the super knob, which you'd probably want for other control aspects. Just some switch that links all volume controls, relative to each other would be nice!

I would be really happy if the MODX would support importing MONO samples. At the moment MODX only supports stereo samples.
For mono is for most of my user samples enough and it would double the amount of user sample size!

Please support mono sample import!!

In live set mode it should be the song name in the top field (the larger name field) and the performance name on the bottom...unless Yamaha add an option to alter the font size for the bottom section.

Oh and give us an option to change colours of text!

The MODX can already import mono samples in wav format. I have imported many of those, just tried again. What am I missing?

Great to hear that. Mono sample import never worked here. As soon as I imported those samples in stereo it worked!

But: What did I do wrong?

Are you sure that those samples were mono?

The test I did was to create a 44khz mono wave with Audacity, then exported it to a USB stick. I check with the finder on a Mac which confirmed it was mono. Then I created a new init performance and went to part 1, element 1 and pressed „create new waveform“. I could then select it and it sounded right.

Where the mono waves you check the same sampling rate etc?

I will try your method again and let you know.
Yes they had the same settings (44.1 kHz and 16 bit).

Mine had also 16 bit. Weird. I do know that MODX / Montage are a bit picky about the wave format. Maybe your program was doing something a little bit different in the wav header or so. But then converting with Audacity (which is free) should fix it. Good luck!

Saving backup files on USB device takes quite long, a few minutes in my case, so...

Incremental saving mode for user backup files!

Wondering if incremental backup is technically possible somehow.
It would save a lot time!
