A new video demonstrating classic rock intros on MODX7

Unread post by DenBro88 » Mon Jan 07, 2019 9:35 pm

Hi All,

Yesterday I posted a YouTube video demonstrating intros to 8 classic rock tunes played on my MODX7. The video is here:

https://youtu.be/eIc-r-B_OfY

There are a few final bars of Jeff Lorber's Tune 88 at the beginning of the video (mainly there to try to catch viewers' attention!). I also play Bill Evans' Waltz For Debby at the very end of the video, for no particular reason other than that I love that tune.

Comments welcomed!

Thanks,

Dennis

Hi Derek,

Thanks very much.

I should mention that I’ve been to your Carreg Ddu (how is that pronounced?) and Echoes-music websites and found your music very interesting, lovely and evocative.

Thanks, Dennis

Always good to get feedback :)

The Carreg Ddu About Page gives some guidance on how to pronounce this Welsh name, which is one the easier ones! :D

I haven't linked to it much yet, but I have a basic page for a new project over at Spectral Steams, which I will be adding new material to over the next few months, and this is focused more on my solo electronic side, a combination of ambient music and also Jarre/Tangerine Dream, etc. influenced electronic music. I garnered a lot of ideas of Christmas that I am now working on.

You'll hear the Montage, and a lot of other things, on "Snowfall On the Preseli Mountains", which are the (large) hills to the south of me, which is where the Bluestones of Stonehenge came from, which always amazes me as it meant 1000s of years ago our ancestors transported stones over a distance of nearly 200 miles (by current roads - as the crow flies might be shorter)! The Montage also drives "Sunrise on Nephenee", with the Vangelis lead being provided by the mighty DIVA VST. The other tracks are mostly Yamaha EX5 (still awesome!)

And it looks like Welsh Floyd is back on the menu later in the year!
