A TRS input will accept a TS
Do you lose anything as far as sound, etc...?

Nope. Look tbh, the only thing a TRS is good at is eliminating noise and other audio "crap" over long length runs...anything up to about 16-20ft ,TS cables (as long as they are shielded) are fine. Just use good quality runs, Mogami cable and Neutrik connectors (for example), and you'll have no issues!

And further (just as an aside) in my experience, TRS (or those with XLR connectors) cables do not make not much difference to ground loops either. I've had ground loops and tried balanced cables to remove it...reduced it, yes, but eliminated it? Nope!

Perhaps this would help?

Unbalanced sources are a nightmare when introduced to Balanced systems.

This was a recurring problem when I worked at the Uni. The recording Studio was a totally balanced system,

and the introduction of a single unbalanced input (often a Synth) invariably caused problems of noise or interference.

So we had a stock of these boxes for just such occurrences.

You may need two of them (for L+R) or a two channel version . . but these will give you that all important

balanced OUT to feed your target device - be it Speakers, Mixer or whatever . .

One thing that I noticed in mine is that it picks up a buzz when near my computer monitor. I guess there isn't much shielding under that plastic case in the MODX - or in the case of the monitor either.

The answer, of course, is to move the monitor away from it, but that is not an elegant solution.

The MODX also seems sensitive to ground loops - more so than my other keyboards. I just use a DI box with ground lift to get past that, though.

In spite of these quirks, I still love this keyboard.
