RAM/ROM memory Modx/Montage

Unread post by Ivan Jochner »

Hi there,

A few questions regarding MODX memory (presume Montage too).

Having had Motif XS with 1 gig Ram, i can load different projects and combined sounds from different libraries.

On MODX there is 1 gig of internal flash memory.

1.How can i reproduce this procedure of loading different projects in MODX similar like on Motif XS?

( I presume one project stay permanently inside till i reload the new one)

2. Will it take a longer time ( e.g. 300 mb ) to write patches into the internal memory ?

Thanks to all!

I will put it in other words...

How long will it take to load new 500 mb project onto MODX ?

(I am considering all things Live Stage)

As you have 1 GB user flash RAM there is enough space for different projects, as long your ammount of user samples is smaller then 1 GB. Consider that the MODX only accepts stereo samples, that means 1 minute 16 bit/44.1 kHz samples uses 10 MB of user space.

The number of peformances and setlists is big enough to have different projects on board. If use need more performances and setlists you migt consider John Melas Software package in order to load and backup. There is also the opportunity to save and reload performances and setlists in the MODX, that works fast.

A couple of minutes. The only moment in my workflow when the USB Stick is busy for a couple of minutes is the user data backup. As I mentioned, try to have different projects on the user RAM of 1 GB.

Did I get your question right?

Small following question :

On my Xs if i want to save any edited Voice / Performance to Usb drive i had to save it together with ALL Files of my project as Xall File .
XS Motif could not handle to save just that Voice into usb.

How is the situation with Modx?

(I know Melas soft is superb for this but i am interested just plain workflow with keyboard)

Cheers!

As written in the other forum entry, that's to my very best knowledge not correct.
