How to sidechain only kick in a drum arpeggio on bass with modx?

Unread post by Laximus » Thu Sep 19, 2019 8:44 pm

Hello!

Is there any method, how to sidechain only from the kick in a drum arpeggio on modx? When I'm using drum arpeggio, the sidechain uses the whole drum audio for sidechaing the bass, pad, etc. But what if I want to use only the kick for sidechain?

No, not possible. Kicks usually need their own part/channel to be a lone sidechain trigger.

Instead, duplicate the part: In the first part, go to the drum editor and mute everything except the kick. In the duplicated part, just mute the kick.

Then add a compressor to the second part and choose the other part as the sidechain. Then simply trigger both arps at the same.

Yes, I know this method, I thought there is an easier way, but it seems like not. Maybe with the new OS 2, with the drum split. Thanks anyway.
