RE: Mystery Films (help?)

Unread post by monsterjazzlicks » Fri Mar 09, 2018 12:26 am

Hi folks,

I have an Amazon Firestick and wanted to re-watch a couple of (unrelated) movies I saw some years back. The trouble is, I can't remember the damn titles!?

The first is about a man in his mid-30's (I think he was American), who travelled abroad (I think to Eastern Europe) to self-fund some kind of movie he wanted to make about a plane landing in a airport (or something like that). So it's a true story and filmed like a reality type. Basically, he keeps enthusiastically approaching people for money, but everyone rejects him. In the end, he runs out of coin and ends up living in the airport toilet (for 12 x months!).

The second was about film an ex-Nazi trial. The guy thinks he has the courtroom and his family fooled because of his alibi's, and because he portrays himself as being a perfectly lovable and innocent grandfather. But a witness takes to the stand and describes how the ex-Nazi forced her to do press-ups, whilst the soldier kicked her in the stomach. It's basically a courtroom drama.

I would estimate that both movies were made during the 1990s.

Many thanks in advance for any kind assistance offered here.

Ta,

Paul

The first is about a man in his mid-30's (I think he was American), who travelled abroad (I think to Eastern Europe) to self-fund some kind of movie he wanted to make about a plane landing in a airport (or something like that). You have two links to click!

The first: https://www.whatismymovie.com/
is only one thing!

Much more important is this click!

https://www.google.de/search?q=what+mov ... e&ie=UTF-8

contents also other links at the bottom - scroll down to bottom and use the other links also:

movie finder online

movie search engine

movie descriptions

horror movie finder

moviefinder

looking for a movie but can't remember the title

movie identifier

searching movie

You have to enter every single items in google! then you will find many different MOVIE search programs.
Not just one! Any of these programs will find your movies! hopefully! Do not give up!

A) GOOGLE
B) search for "movie decriptions"
C) Enter your text ! in movie decritions!
D) Find your movie!

A) GOOGLE
B) search for "looking for a movie but can't remember the title"
C) enter your text!

and so on!

It´s a lot of work!...and possibly your only chance? ...
I don´t think anybody of the forum ... really knows your "mystery movies". Sorry!

Does AMAZON know your "mystery movies"?
Are you registered with AMAZON? And did they save your purchase history?
If you bought the films there ... will they be stored there as well?

Good luck! I know - if you forget something ... you can go crazy!

Hi Purcell,

Thanks a lot mate.

OK, I see. I will have another try tonight.

I watched both movies on TV and so they will not be in my Amazon history.

It is possible, though, that someone on this forum has see one or both of them!

Paul

The first movie you talk about sounds a bit like The Terminal starring Tom Hanks, except that he was stuck at the airport due to an immigration issue (had no legal country, basically)

Try to remember the facts of the movies! The name of one or more actors - is most important!

I give you some german links - movie search - so you get the idea, what you need to find your "mystery movies".
It is ACTOR :!: :!: :!: --- time and scenes!
If you remember only one ACTOR...you get the movie!

Example how to find a forgotten, missing movie: Click links!

All movies by genre etc.

http://www.tvspielfilm.de/kino/filmarchiv/
-------------------------------------------------------
movie search without title

https://www.google.de/search?q=film%20s ... 40&bih=769

click all an everything! ... if you have problems... I ´ll translate that from german - english

Good Luck! REMEMBER the ACTOR(s) :!: ... and you find the movie! For sure!

Whatismymovie?

https://www.wired.de/collection/tech/di ... essen-habt

Sorry for all that "german". Only to give you the ideas! With all that "tools"...

Remember the ACTOR...and you win!

Hi Joey,

Yes, it could have been!

I love Tom Hanks but I think that film is a comedy; a genre I do not like whatsoever.

Purcell,

I have seen the Nazi actor before many times (I am sure in WAR type films). He will be in his 70/80s by now!

I did try Google/Bing images a while back but it did not show anyone I recognised in that sense.

Purcell,

That was a really GOOD shot mate. But Nuremberg is on the Nuremberg trials. This was of a lone Zazi on trial (he was like a, say, Ukrainian guard in Bergen Belson). So he was alone during the trial. Also, I am am quite sure it was fiction.

If Alec Baldwin was in it I would have turned it OFF!

Paul
