Hello again,

I bought another gem ws1 (without floppy disk) it works, the new board is a bit different, I did what you told me to change the eprom, I left the gem WS1 oriental operating system, but there is a volume problem, , it sounds very low and the rhythm kits are not heard , and when you put the original eprom back on it works the sound normally :(

Thanks

Ok, Saul, thought it is the same board, which has socket for the connection of scale arabic, the problem is where to get the OS operating system of the oriental version.
I suppose the OS (or at least one half of it) is located in IC18 which is an eprom. So you have it already - a swap to a 'new' mainboard should do the trick...

The content of IC22 eventually could be a part of the OS too - but since this seems to be 'mask-programmed' this part may be the same on a 'normal' as well as on a 'orientalic' version of the synth... if not, just swap this IC too.
Good solution, i'll buy a ws1 gem and go ahead that works and fixed.
