Unread post by geohierro »

Hello friends, nice to see DG forum is active again !!!

I´m restoring a DG80 112, i´ve just update it to version A using a Roland Edirol interface, and now i´m looking for a missing chicken head knob...
Does someone know where can i find it ????

i´ve also bought a Tech21 Midi Mouse that works perfect with my amp for change presets.

Thanks to all of you again for helping me in the update proccess !!!

Welcome geohierro

Yes, this buttons are a real culprit! I never found the right ones! Those of the DG-Stomp and DG60 also differ. I used cheap products from China and used some glue to make sure they weren't lost again.

However, there was a discussion between Buzzard from Denmark and GuitarLogic from the United States in the old Yahoo Group, citing a source for exact copies:
Recently scored a batch of chickenhead knobs for the DG amplifiers.
They aren't original Yamaha, but they are the exact same size, and
instead of $14 each, I'll sell them $10 for 5, including shipping and
handling within the 48 contiguous United States. Reply here or email
me.

I don't know if this E-Mail adress is still valid or if Buzzard has ordered some of them that time, but I guess he will tune in soon after reading this thread and report...

Just some other quotes from the old group:
Welcome!

http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/guit ... enhead.htm

The main difference between the Yamaha chickenhead knobs and standard
chickenhead knobs is the angle of the pointer relative to the post.
That means you can use any standard chickenhead knob if you fill it
with epoxy putty, and then set it on the post in the direction you
want it to point...

Pull off one of the other knobs and compare it to a standard
chickenhead knob, you'll see what I mean. The Yamaha knobs cost $10
each from Yamaha, IF they still have them... You can get regular
chickenhead knobs at most electronics shops for around $2 each.
I've used "Chickenhead knobs" with the set screws. You have to use a spline to take up the extra space and make sure they're deep enough to tighten well. EBay/Stewart McDonald---

A few years ago, I lost one knob from my DG-100 212.

I managed to get 4 or 5 from Yamaha, and yes they didn't come cheap. :?

I changed the the ones that were loose, and kept the old ones for spares.
If you only need one or two, I can part with them, but they are used and somewhat loose.
A bit of glue can fix that.
