New,red and sparkly

Unread post by NYGeorge » Mon Jan 14, 2019 10:35 pm

Just got this from Japan today. I played it for maybe an hour and first impressi0n is good. Seems it's been a while since I played a maple neck. It's one of those guitars that makes you play differently or something. I think I'll keep it close at hand for a bit.

But I think guitarplayers like that are as rare as that fantastic looking guitar. Great Catch.

What type are we lookin at. Customized factory guitar? One off? Overspray?

It's an MGS all original from Yamaha. Check out Bills page of rare and unusual and you'll see them.

Very nice I have the standard in Blue which I really like. I am a bit surprised at the headstock though would have expected to see Yamaha on it with the usual words. Yours is only the second one I have ever seen in the west, mine being the first.

Bill
I saw a post somewhere while researching these guitars that showed yours when you first got it. As blue is my favorite color I would have opted for yours first if it had come up. Even for slightly more $$$.
Yes I thought it odd also that there was no ID on the headstock.
I can't tell from the picture if yours is sparkly. But it shore is purdy!

I already saw the resemblance with Bill's guitar but also noticed the missing headstock decal.

Well let's see. The Yamaha is blue the Fender is not. Yamaha wins. Yamaha has 6 saddles Fender has 3. Yamaha wins. Fender has cool control plate Yamaha does not. Fender wins. Score ladies and gents is 2 to 1 in Yamaha's favor. Even if the Fender plays better it's still a tie. :music-guitarred:
