My first and second Yamaha vintage amp

Well with all those vintage yamaha guitars I have, i figure to try out a vintage yamaha amp. With the Japanese Yahoo auctions, the old solid state amps are even cheaper and i manage to win a YTA 45 for 30$ and shipping should total under 100$. Even though I want a TA amp, the YTA is pretty funky and for that price, I am not losing any money and can sell it for at least the money I paid for.

Where on earth do you live ...... 8O . Nothing that cheap around here.

Great catch. You're hooked now. The vintage Yamaha amps will keep coming in

Have a YTA 15, YTA 95 and YTA 100, great amps, and no electronic problems at all. Still going strong. Don't know why, but the generation after that seems to suffer from more 'aging' troubles.

I think that is a fantastic looking bit of kit and for just $100 too :)

I guess the only way to pick up these things now..for reasonable money is direct from Japan. Never bought anything through Japanese Auction sites myself but I have not heard any bad reports about them so perhaps it is time to start looking :)

Got number 2. Not the most best price like the other but still a great price for one of the most adorable and practical mini amps made

You are right just because they are dirt cheap still. I will probably pick up a TA, a G50 II, and T100C if find them for a steal.

Turns out I will just get the G5, the YTA 45 was too big and gave me only a DHL option of $360 which I had to drop. I thought I would just pay at most $150 and have it shipped through boat but I had no choice. I still am getting the G5 but the shipping amkes the amp average price, I though that was going to be cheaper since the thing is so small.

What's the story on the TA amps? I believe models 30, 60, and 120? There's a TA-60 on craigslist for $1100, but a quick Google indicates that's a ridiculous price.

The TA amps are (imo) fantastic clean amps, absolutely worth owning,
but the price for a TA-60 should be $ 200 or less, unless it's in mint condition.

Here's some Yamaha amp info: viewtopic.php?f=134&t=7006 TA amps almost at the top.

I been seeing them for high prices but they don't go for much. I think people are realizing they are both interesting and good amps but most of the sellers I see are selling for inflated prices.
