Yamaha TA 20 amp

Unread post by Asmikace »

Picked this for around 200 shipped. I been wanting one of these funky wedge obelisk amps and got one cleaned on the inside with some outer wear. Really nice sound with tremolo and reverb especially for a solid state amp from the 60s.

Congrats ((i))

TA amps are (IMO) SO COOL. (Y)

The tremolo and spring reverb makes it perfect to play surf, but anything goes.
BTW , it should work fine with pedals too.

Regards
Peter

I have the 20 30 and 60 and they are really quite nice. Surely wins the prize for most innovative amp of the decade or maybe every decade. And the take out food container speakers are definitely a novel idea. You wouldn't think they would work but they do. Wonder why they abandoned the idea? Amaze your friends buy a Yamaha TA.
Might be my imagination but do they sound better with a guitar from the era? I think they do. Yours make a nice portrait together.
Congrats on you find and a good price.

Thanks George. I had to put the reverb unit back into position while vaccuming the hidden mouse crap that both got loose during shipping. That speaker is a sight to behold in how quirky it is. Still nice sounding for being 50+ years old.
