RGX 321 resurrection

Unread post by 321RGX »

I've just finished restoring a RGX 321 I bought for $60 dollars. It was worn, rusty screws everywhere and dirty and had been living in a smoky environment.
Now it shines again and it plays beautifully. The intonation is spot on and it stays in tune. Really impressed with the overall quality and feel of the instrument. Bridge pickup is a DiMarzio DP100 Super Distortion.

I do however not know exactly when it was made.

guitardaterproject.org says:

Guitar Info
Your guitar was made in
Taiwan
on September 12th, 1991 or 2001
Production Number: 211

Can anyone tell me if it is a 1991 or 2001 model? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum and the string section. :D

Nice work, well done ((i)) :D

Most of my current RGX models are from the late 90's to the late 00's .
I used to have some older models: 1987 RGX-110 , 1990 RGX-121 , 1988 RGX-211 ,
looking similar to to yours, guessing that yours is 1991 model.

Anyone else jump in and correct me if I'm wrong. :?

Best Regards
Peter

Welcome to the forum great job on the guitar I am fairly sure that all the various 321s ceased production in the mid 90s so it will be 1991.

Thank you both for your replies. I had a feeling it was older than 2001 so I'm glad you confirm my hunch.
