You appear to have all the info except missing some countries of manufacture always hit and miss with Yamaha indeed if you refer to my SA pages some models are made in more than one country. So missing ones are all 620 range and the 520 are Korean. The 800 as you say is made in Taiwan BUT I have seen definite evidence that some 800s were made in Japan. I believe that all models numbered 820 and above are Japanese.
Thanks Bill, the 520 , 620 are now Korean and 820 and up is now Japanese, including the 1500 , 1500B , FG , AD6 and RS7.

Peter

Peter
You have no end date for the 820s they appear in my 2004 catalogue but not the 2006 suggest end date of 2005 is near enough.

Two things ....

The first is probably wrong on my AES-500 post ....
YAMAHA AES-500 ..... Bridge: StopTail
It's a wrap around with fixed saddles, just like the AES-420, casted in one piece ...... here's the question, is that a StopTail ??,
or should we change it to (fixed) wrap around bridge ?

The second is the claim that some AES-800 should be made in Japan.
I have searched and found numerous pictures of AES-800 guitars claimed to be MIJ, but those showing the lower back still is printed:

Yamaha
Electric guitars & basses
Made by Kaohsiung Yamaha Co. Ltd.
in Taiwan in accordance specifications of
Yamaha corporation

(in an oval ring.)

Bill, have you actually seen a picture of a "Made in Japan" print on an AES-800 ? , I have failed to find one so far.

yes but I can't see where now it was on a forum and the guy stated it had made in Japan written on his guitar and the pictures showed it but I can't find it now. I will alter the wording to suggest doubt I think.

Hi Peter,
You are correct, I have just the 4 AES model guitars as follows:
AES-620HB Korea
AES-720 Korea
AES-800 Taiwan
AES-820 Taiwan
I've also read the AES-920 was the only one of these 5 listed to be made in Japan.

Great job!!

Thanks Jeff.

I thought the AES-820 was from Japan, now corrected to Taiwan.
