Helping with MIDI, can it be easy ?

Unread post by jnm2 » Fri Nov 22, 2019 9:08 am

Hi,

As many people can often use help on MIDI, I want to promote my FREE tool MIDI CONNECT CHECK (MCC) a bit more.

It is simple to setup and even use as a 'Remote help tool'.

A bit more on this 'Remote help tool' :
Helpers can easily make a recording of all MIDI actions to be taken.
From simple MIDI commands like Program Changes, Bank Selections to complete Sysexstrings or dump Sysex files.
Even MIDI-ports selections from different devices to send to, can be recorded.

Of course this requires knowledge and trust in the Helpers, but that isn't that always the case ?
Instead of explaining every step to undertake (over and over again), a helping hand can simply be made with a Recording.

All MIDI CONNECT CHECK files are easy to read with any program that can handle simple text-files.
This way, everyone can check whether the help has been created correctly.
Of course the user is always responsible.

Helpers can send there device files to me (PM) or post here, so the collection of devices, can grow.

Thanks and succes.

Download MIDI CONNECT CHECK (just unpack the zip and start MCC) :

This sounds interesting! I've just installed it but haven't tried it yet. If I create some files for my models, I'll send them to you to add to the folder.

Thanks Michael.
I added an English help file now.
http://www.vdvb.be/MCC/Help%20info%20GB.htm
Or to read it later on... just start the program and click on the 'Info' button. Your default browser will open the file online.
To learn how the program works is very easy, just try out all things first without a midi out selection.
Then al is WYSIWYG.

I still haven't made time to explore this in any detail, but I'm planning to spend more time with it this weekend after the Thanksgiving holiday brouhaha has mostly died down. :)
