Mists of Avalon

Unread post by Derek »

Here is a very quickly improvised piece - probably needs more work on it, but I wanted to get the idea down before moving onto something else, and then something I can come back to once I had some space from it.

It is built upon a Yamaha Montage Pad performing a motion sequence, but then there are quite a few other layers that all contribute.

My Prophet X is in there in a subtle way, as is a couple of instances of the Dune 3 VST, which I am becoming a big fan of.

The strange flutey lead is UVI Falcon 2 which is also fast becoming one of my favourite VSTs - it is so versatile. Not a cheap VST, but very powerful.

The reverb on this track is courtesy of the free Valhalla SuperMassive plug in that I mentioned in an earlier post - you can hear the tail at the end of the song. I haven't gone overboard, mind, but you can make it even more immense if you wished!

Thanks for listening, Chris

It is one of those that came very quickly.

I'm currently working on an ambient piece that is even more laid back.

This was nice Derek, as Chris says, very Vangellian. I was trying to figure out the chords, but you had me! Be good to hear how you add to it when you revisit the piece.

All the best

Thanks, Paul.

Song starts with just a G# note but goes to an C#m when the chords come in and following by an inverted Amaj (shift the G# note in the chord to an A). After that, I'd need to sit and play it to remember!
