Hi Sixxo, welcome to yamahamusicians.com :)

I see you from Slovakia, home of my favourite acoustic guitar maker Dowina who are based in Bratislava.

Have you tried a reset on your PSR E-303?

Starting with the power off which obviously in your case means turning off at the mains rather than the keyboard itself.

While holding the rightmost white key on the keyboard (C7) along with the three rightmost black keys (F#6, G#6, and A#6), turn the power switch on. "Clr" will appear on the display.

NOTE: Do not turn off the power while Clr is showing on the display.

That should set it back to defaults and then you can test if the on/off button is working.

If it is still the same then it may be a problem with the on/off button itself. It could be as simple as cleaning it with switch cleaner or it might need replacing.

Yamaha didn't add the Auto Power Off feature until sometime after the PSR-E303; I don't recall when but I know that my YPT-400 (a.k.a. PSR-E403) does not have it, whereas my PSR-E433 and later models do.

It sounds like the power switch might be worn out. Hopefully that won't prevent you from being able to enjoy the keyboard.

If you're using batteries, just remove the batteries after each session on the keyboard.

If you're using a power adapter, just unplug the adapter from the wall after each session (and make sure there are no batteries in the keyboard).

If you want to try to properly diagnose and repair the issue, the service manual is available here:

https://elektrotanya.com/showresult?wha ... =&kat2=all

Once you know where the fault is, you might be able to order the necessary replacement part on the internet, or salvage one from another PSR-E303 or YPT-300 that has some different issue.

It should be an easy fix to replace the button if you didn't want to keep turning off at the wall socket but then again it is just an on/off switch and everything else works fine so perhaps better to leave it as it is :)

According to the SM the power switch is simply a button that toggles a circuit to let the power through.

If the button switches the power on then I guess the button is OK and the toggle circuit is at fault by not cutting the power when the button is pushed again.

In the diagram it looks like TR101 is driven by the circuitry above to let the power through. There may be a simple cause for the toggle circuit to fail, like a dry joint or corrosion around the components.

I used my PSR-E303 regularly until about a month ago (when I purchased a DGX 650). In prepping the PSR for resale on Craigslist I notice the same thing that the original poster did. It powers up fine, plays fine. But when you hit the STANDBY/ON button nothing happens.
That's an odd problem to have just pop up.
